Today I picked up my lovely Sailor Moon Princess Serenity Pullip. She is gorgeous. But you won't ever see a picture of her as she was when I got her. Why? Because I brought her home and modified her to fit on a 60cm Obitsu body! Yep! It was fun and involved power tools! I used this tutorial by requiemart to start from. It appears that Pullip has made some changes to their dolls and customization is easier now! http://www.requiemart.com/pullip/bigpullip.html
STEP 1: pry off the wig and unscrew three screws that hold the head together.
STEP 2: remove the insides of a spare 60cm old style Obitsu neck piece. Modify it by removing about 1/8 inch so that her head sits lower on the body.
Original neck hole, for comparison purposes.
STEP 3: Deciding where to put the neck. I wanted it to sit a little further back. This left an opening in front, however once she is on the chest plate it doesn't show! I marked it with pencil and then took a dremel to her. This involved lots of back and forth with testing and marking and testing. I did need to take down some of the inner mechanism plastic and post on the bottom. It was still possible to put the inner screw back in place, and the mechanism works great. Requiemart covers this in her tutorial.
STEP 4: Screw the head back together. I was a little messy, but again, it doesn't show when she is assembled. The rim of the neck piece keeps the head in place nicely. Since the rim is functioning for this, the insides of the neck piece were not needed.
STEP 5: Glue that hair back on your lovely doll.
STEP 6: Trim the neck edge of your chest plate the same amount you trimmed the neck connector. These are the leftovers. The rest of the plastic was sawdust.
STEP 7: Reassemble your doll, dress and enjoy!
And yes, that is Hazel's wedding gown. It is very Moon Princess in style, so she is lending it to Serena until I can make her one of her own.
