Hmm :I I was hopping for more..curves? Layers of fat "tires" around the upper belly, lower belly, chubbier lower legs..
This body looks unrealistic because this isn´t how fat layers on a female body. It looks more baby like? I admire every atempt at making a "full" dolly, but I haven´t yet seen a body that would actualy look like right to me :I

I have to agree with that

some of my ex-gf's were heavy ... and one of my ex's was very definitely heavy ... and that body shape is not anywhere close to what a heavy woman actually looks like

an accurately modelled "ogre" Fiona would be a cool doll :)

as for anti-anorexic looking dolls ... I agree with the comments about some of the Volks Dolfie Dream bodies ... and Iplehouse makes some very lovely curvy female dolls ... especially the EID's
... LOL it is part of the problem (besides her height) for me to find ready made clothes to buy her ... other than Iple ... no one else makes clothes for a doll that isnt so skinny that they look anorexic

I actually met a woman who knows the sculptor today! Apparently she's from Bronx, NY. Pretty exciting to find that out.

As far as the doll I like her dressed but I don't find her appealing as a nude doll. I think the reason is mainly the lack of detail as ppl have noted above. She doesn't look realistic.

The only reason I wouldn't want this doll is because I know she won't be as articulated as I would like. Resin is limited because it is rigid, and the shape of the body will prevent a lot of posing other than the straight forward ones. Now it Obitsu made some full figured bodies, that would be awesome!!!

It's nice that there are a couple of heftier dolls out there for those who don't like the thin look that most have. (To be fair: it's easy to be thin when all of your food is made of plastic!)
All that's needed now is a full figured guy sculpt! I really want a sumo BJD!

True!

By the way, this is a Zombie thread. I don't know if this doll ever went into production or what. I don't recall seeing any more of her after the first announcement.

An Obitsu "pleasingly plump" model would be great- but highly unlikely. It would be nice, though, because with larger dolls all I can think of is how heavy they would be to haul around. Also the amount of resin needed to make them would make them very expensive.

1: The sculptor lives in Minneapolis and is a friend of mine. I don't believe the sculptor is from the Bronx, since I have known the person for quite a few years here in the Twin Cities. I got to see the doll in production! Yes, you can still get her.

2: As far as the shape not being what a heavy woman looks like, that rather depends on the background of the woman in question. I resemble the doll! And I also have really tiny feet. So I tend to think she looks pretty good.
