We may have to do a head count between us. I think Neris was number 27 in the H&M House of Vinyl. 2 more should arrive this week (my Airy & Neris - wow, those lotteries are a loooong wait). Two DDs are being painted/modded at the moment and I hope to get Akira before the end of the year, *if* my name is pulled for the upcoming lottery.
If all goes as planned, that would be 32 - I think with 14 being DDs (the Obis still outnumber everyone). Our son also informed us this week that he wants his first 60cm now. Oh, noes.
Thankfully for the dolly budget, the majority of the girls have been fixer-uppers.
We love strays at our house.
Just a note. I have 1 Volks and 8 Obitsu, and at least half of my group are fixer-uppers. Dressed Volks dolls are definitely more expensive - up front, but by the time you buy an Obitsu body, a face-up, the perfect eyes and wig, and a 1st class outfit, you have spent at least $450. The Volks outfit is incredibly detailed and the only Obitsu outfits I've seen that are anything like that are actually in the $150 range and they're for Obitsu, but not from Obitsu. So you can spend about the same amount on an Obitsu for the rough equivalent of a dressed Volks.
That said, I think this year started out on a higher dollieh budget than we would have planned if we'd known about the AC upgrade we needed to finance. But the Volks were all in the pipeline long before the new AC was needed, and you can't easily back out on them, so it is what it is. Misheru seems to really like these dressed DDs, and I can't blame her, they are beautiful. But apart from the occasional one like Neris that catches my eye, I'm still an Obitsu fan - ever the frugal one. Must be the Scottish coming through, either that or I just really like the line of the Obitsu legs....
