Picture (2 pics) modded 50cm vs original 50cm UPDATED

Although I'm not 100% satisfied with the way I modified the 60cm abdomen I put on my new 50cm girl from Obitsu, it works and I think it's valid to do a picture comparison. I will be buying another 60cm abdomen, and re-doing the modification (and not cutting off anything like as much vinyl), but unless you look specifically, you can't see anything wrong. So, here's my Shion vs the standard 50cm bodyset.

Update : I linked to an imaged of a Yamato VMF50 Type D earlier, and that link didn't work, so I have updated my picture with the Type D for comparison and a rear view of my own girl.

The larger bust is a huge improvement over the default, and without the modified abdomen, I think it might actually overpower the thin default abdomen. It's not quite a VMF50 from Yamato, but she's definitely got something.

The thighs on the 50cm are actually much better sculpted than I anticipated, they have some real shape to them. Personally, I find the additional curves of the large bust and 60cm abdomen balance nicely, and compare favorably to the Yamato body set, it's most definitely an improvement over the original - IMHO.

Shion has more meat on her and a much rounder looking figure. More grownup looking too.

I can't see the 3rd image

My only complaint is where her legs connect. The 60cm legs must be wider.

I'll try to find another and post all three in one image later.

Yep, that's about the only flaw (apart from my cruel cuts on the vinyl of course...).

Hmm, makes me wonder if the DD abdomen would work for this. I had a similar issue when I put a DD large bust on my 47cm Obitsu girl, I trimmed off the boxey top bit and then I cut slits on four sides of the top just above where it would be visible so that it would fit inside the bust piece. I never thought of doing the V shape...

I think she'll look really good in clothes. And yes, the 60cm dolls have thunder thighs.

We should know that in just a day or two...as soon as my DD abdomen arrives. After seeing some pics from K2 and doing some measuring myself between Highlander's 50cm and my DD's...the abdomen pieces are less than a 1/2cm off in upper diameter AND in torso length.

I am anxious for all of my bits to arrive. I hate UPS.

IMHO I think the shape of your doll looks better. The wider hips balance the large bust very well. The thighs don't really bother me since there is some shape to them and they aren't just sticks. A little gappage in that area is very common in women anyway.

It does. The DD abdomen can be subbed for the Obitsu 60cm abdomen without modification.

I had a similar issue when I put a DD large bust on my 47cm Obitsu girl, I trimmed off the boxey top bit and then I cut slits on four sides of the top just above where it would be visible so that it would fit inside the bust piece.

My 47cm girl (schoolgirl Anna Marie) never had a DD2 large bust but she did have a DDDynamite shapely bust for some time (episode 62 through 139). She has since moved to a Peach Pai soft bust.

I never thought of doing the V shape...

The V notches were good in this case because a large portion of the seam is visible.

Here are the pictures TheHighlander has been talking about.

A couple of notes.
I put pieces of Scotch Magic Transparent tape on the vinyl where I made my pencil marks to make the marks easier to read and to not mark up the vinyl.

The two side cuts don't show and are only to reduce the material inside the bust. No need to glue them.

Only the back seam is visible and needs to be made "pretty". There will still be a slight "valley" down the middle of the back but to completely get rid of that you would have to cut quite a ways farther.
