It's image heavy AND it has video links - so with your iffy connection I'm not surprised you are having trouble.

It would be interesting if he contracted Obitsu - but from the sound of it I think he's one of those people who likes to do it all himself - whether he knows how to or not.

Well unlike resin, molding vinyl and plastic isn't something you can do in your garage. It would have to be contracted out to a manufacturer that has the equipment, especially if you had any hope of reaching a wide market. Obitsu would be the logical choice as that's what they do first and foremost, contracted plastic and vinyl toys.

Yamato has custom-skinned 50cm Obitsu dolls out. Yeah, Obitsu would be logical. However, Good Smile has a huge vinyl production capacity all to itself, and lots and lots of know-how from making Nendos and so on. I would not be surprised if Obitsu is in on it, but Good Smile could do this all by themselves.

Update: looks like Obitsu is involved with whatever Danny has in mind. And the thing that's funny is that Good Smile and Obitsu are just a train station away from each other on the same JR line.

Here are some relevant tweets:
dannychoo オビツに向かう。グスマ駅(松戸)の一個前です。Heading off to Obitsu. Its the next station next to Matsudo where Good Smile is.
dannychoo Just left the Obitsu factory where they showed us some proprietary machinery - will upload pics later.

So yeah, the plot thickens. Will keep stalking this story so you don't have to.

Sadly, it looks like Danny Choo is mainly interested in the anime-type dolls, so I doubt if it will be anything I will want, because I like the more realistic sculpts. But I can't wait to see the pix- hurry please with the pictures!

When I clicked the link it said, and I quote, 'The page you was looking for was eaten'. O_O

I would love to see what's up with this company/doll! I love variety. I remember once many years back, Parabox/Obitsu made a vinyl character guy, a very Asian looking dude. If I'd only had the money for him, someone was selling him on JS, but I was broke (surprise surprise <_<). But I loved him; just an example of my desire for something at least somewhat unique.

Which brings me to the question: will anyone ever make a truly masculine 60cm guy?? I know Obitsu (Parabox?) has that 65cm guy in the works (I am totally psyched about that!!), but I'd love an inbetweeny guy, too; not 55, not 65, just good ol' 60. And at this point I've given up on penor from the Obitsu camp. Just not a girl body turned into a guy, please!!
