Okay, so I'm kind of liking one of the new Hujoo boys. The thing is, I tend to be a bit narrow minded when it comes to my doll family. I want to know what I'm getting into if I decide to go for it.

So, I'm asking general questions. These are generic questions, so I'll be happy with girl doll answers too!

1- Pictures. Okay, that's not a question, as much as it is a plea. I would love to see owner pictures! Any sculpt!
2-What do you like about them?
3-What do you dislike about them?
4- In general, do they fit in normal MSD clothing, or do you find yourself searching for something to dress them in?
5-Weight-wise, how heavy are they? I ask because I'm used to heavy resin butts. I've never handled ABS.
6-If you have resin dolls, how do they fit in? Silly sounding question to some, I'm sure, but I like my dolls to fit together.

That's what I can think of for now. Any help or information is appreciated!

Okay. I have a Hujoo action girl Yumi, who I LOVE. What do I love about her? Well obviously, her price. Also that is made of ABS which means I am much less likely to break her Also I don't really have to worry too much about staining, washing my hands at every handling, or yellowing. I can bring her outside and not fret. I ALSO think she is gorgeous, IMO the Hujoos have great sculpts for the "lower end" of the money spectrum. Finally, she poses great. Hujoos are usually strung very well and I personally think she does a wealth of great poses.

What do I dislike? Not much. But her peanuts (gear system) do look a little awkward when bent and exposed. If she has clothes covering them, no biggie. Even if she doesn't, it's not bad. But compared to some other dolls with more natural looking joints...it can look just a tad awkward.

Clothing...well...I haven't bought much for her. She does fit the MSD boots I bought from Mimiwoo perfectly. The sweater I knit was for an MSD and fits great...Sorry I can't be of too too much help here as I have been attempting making most of her wardrobe.

Weight-wise, She's substantial. Not as heavy as resin obviously but I will say this: I have a Hujoo wings and Hujoo freya who both <i>feel</i> like plastic. I love them, doesn't bother me a bit, but they do. She has a much different "feel" to her, it's nothing like the smaller Hujoos.

That all being said, take it with a grain of salf beeecaaause.....I have no resin dolls. I chose her because she was ABS and I really like ABS.

I have to admit that the peanut joints were worrying me, but the more pictures I see the more I'm getting used to them. They could grow on me.

The posing capabilities and price are what has been drawing me in a bit. I need another boy. My lone guy is severely outnumbered and needs a friend who is not female. I was originally planning a RS, but then the Hujoo boys caught my eye, and a few bucks could be saved.

I'm just hesitant because I worry he won't look right with the rest of the family. I'm debating on whether just to bite the bullet and give it a try or hold out for one that I'm more certain on.

By the way, your girl is cute!

I have an action girl and I sort of like her? Her sculpt is adorable. She IS lighter than resin, but not by a whole lot. The things I don't like about her is the fact her head can't be tilted from side-to-side the way a resin's can. There's less mobility in the neck which leads to less natural posing. Also, her arms have limited mobility, although I understand that this issue was perhaps fixed when they released newer sculpts? She was the first ABS sculpt released on the older body. Anyway, the third thing I don't like is she has weak ankles. Seriously. She can't even support her own weight because the plastic around the ankle joints won't hold properly. I have to brace her feet and legs in boots if I want her to stand on her own.

Honestly, I'm torn on whether I want to sell her or keep her. I LOVE her sculpt, but really, the rest of her drives me a bit nuts. The gear system and the hidden joints in her upper legs that allow for her knees to be drawn up to her chin are nice, but some of my MSD and SD resins can do the exact same thing, so it's not that special. Plus, the fact that she can't stand without help (whereas most of my uber-heavy, uber-expensive SD resins CAN) sort of turns me off. *shrugs*

I had seen the YouTube JS review, and I think they did fix the arms at least. I haven't seen any reviews on the boys yet, but I hope they would have gone with the fixes made on the second girl body.

i am interested to buy hujoo msd as well, this thread is helping a bit.... i want to see more owner pictures too please XD

I have a Sara and a Dana as well as the original resin Cora. I love them all. My least favorite part is the elbow joint. I do like the clicking noise they make. I haven't had any trouble posing them. I can get mine to stand by themselves fine. You need to make sure that the ankle is correctly placed into the foot. I was even able to get my Sara to stand in high heels!

I have Dana. The ankles always looked correctly placed to me, but putting her in heels just doesn't work. Soon as I let go, she starts to tip because they're just not sturdy enough. I dunno, maybe I got a defect or something.

I sold mine as well. I hated the way she posed and she couldn't do what I wanted her to do. It's put me off of buying any other Hujoo doll. The head doesn't move at all unless you take out the O ring. But to do that you need a neck donut. The elbows don't pose either, as in they don't rotate, the arm can only go up and down at the elbow joint.

I'm curious about the joints with gears. Do they strip out eventually if you're always clicking them to pose her or do they bend in such a way that avoids that potential issue?
