A while back I got a case in it with some vintage Barbies. Late 60's and 70's dolls, a Ken, a Skipper, a Malibu head, a damaged straight leg Barbie and two mod Barbie heads. They were in such bad shape I wasn't quite sure if those girls were originally TNT Barbies or just the later standard Barbies. I wasn't feeling well when I got them so I just put them away to do a project with later. Today I finally took them out to wash them up and try to remove the rest of the bad hair on the brunette and I was pleasantly surprised to find 3 leftover lashes on the blonde and two on the brunette that popped up once I washed their heads. So that answers that question. They were both TNT Barbies and they will be getting put back into that state and rebodied if I can find them both bodies that will work.
The one that came with has major finger issues so I am going to attempt my first boil the arms transplant using parts from a newer Barbie. Might not work but I'm going to try it anyway because otherwise the body is very usable and a straight leg body though not quite the right color does work for these. If I can't do that they will just end up on Liv bodies like my repro did. I might go that route anyway as I think Liv bodies will match them better now. They've both changed color a bit from their original one and I think I want to try to match them more closely anyway and let them be articulated like my repro. The brunette desperately needs a wig or a reroot. I do have a brunette wig from the repro fashion queen I have that might work, but I might just root her a deep auburn brown anyway. I have the redhead repro. Now I have a blonde original, so I figure an auburn brown would be nice for the third one, and yes, I do intend to restore them all the way, lashes and all.
The mod Barbies they are my favorite vintage Barbies and I have long coveted a real set. I have original Ken, Midge, Skipper, Barbie, and Francie, but I'm still going to end up grabbing a Stacey, PJ, and a Julia if I can too someday. I finally have a pink World of Barbie case to display them with too. I'm very happy about that as it's the one I've always wanted since I was a kid. Pics here once I get them all done dressed. Might be a few weeks but I am working on it. I have to wig or root the brunette, give both the girls lashes, re-flock Ken in a mix of colors, do a little paint work and then figure out the body thing but when I get them done I plan on displaying the repros I have with these on one shelf and I will take pics.
