The dragon has landed

After much waiting and a false alarm, my Pixiu has finally arrived! His name is Perneth (named after the Dragonriders of Pern series), and he is sky blue.

Image
The box! The very impressive letter opener failed me, however, and I had to use the knife on my multi-tool instead.

Image
I was in a bit of a hurry because of course out of all the weekends he could've arrived, it had to be the one where I had half a dozen different plans...

Image
My camera doesn't seem to like his color much. He's got a fair bit of grey in him but he really is blue. Especially when put next to Ariel, my Sprite, who is the old blue. Made him look green.

Image
He needs sueded badly, but I'm trying to wait until I have time to take him apart and blush him first. I was trying to make him crouch and his arms just did that. Most of his joints are really slippy!

Image
One of his wings droops slightly.

Image
Not sure if that's true across the board or just mine. It's not too too bad though.

Image
First thing I did was replace his eyes to see if the beads I got him fit.

Image
They did and they catch the light really nicely. Hard to see in pics though, none of these were that well lit.

He's adorable though and he's going to look really great when I get him blushed and sueded right. I'm going to have to take some pics of him with the rest of the gang in some better light.

Eee faceted eyes! Of course I think Anne McCaffery's (RIP) Pernese dragons, just from those. The name is a bonus. And a very pretty one at that.

His new eyes reminded me of bubbles in the sunlight. :)

Thanks guys!

I suck at this whole patience thing, so I broke out the supplies, cleared part of the table, and went at him. I've given him a faceup, detailed his wings, tail, hands and feet, painted his talons, and gave him some hot glue sueding. I need to tighten him more but the hot glue really helped him stand better. He's so cute!

I just love these guys! The eyes are gorgeous, though it's been forever since I read my books. Makes me want to break out Dragonsinger again!

I love my little dragon, but you're right about him needing suede and restringing. most Resinsouls do. I really think the company should redesign their joints, they are weak and elbows almost always flip in.

That being said your dragon is freaking adorable and those eyes are kicka$$. I can't wait to see what you've done with him. I modded horns on mine with apoxie.
