The dragon has landed

After much waiting and a false alarm, my Pixiu has finally arrived! His name is Perneth (named after the Dragonriders of Pern series), and he is sky blue.

The box! The very impressive letter opener failed me, however, and I had to use the knife on my multi-tool instead.

I was in a bit of a hurry because of course out of all the weekends he could've arrived, it had to be the one where I had half a dozen different plans...

My camera doesn't seem to like his color much. He's got a fair bit of grey in him but he really is blue. Especially when put next to Ariel, my Sprite, who is the old blue. Made him look green.

He needs sueded badly, but I'm trying to wait until I have time to take him apart and blush him first. I was trying to make him crouch and his arms just did that.
Most of his joints are really slippy!

One of his wings droops slightly.

Not sure if that's true across the board or just mine. It's not too too bad though.

First thing I did was replace his eyes to see if the beads I got him fit.

They did and they catch the light really nicely. Hard to see in pics though, none of these were that well lit.
He's adorable though and he's going to look really great when I get him blushed and sueded right. I'm going to have to take some pics of him with the rest of the gang in some better light.
