Has anyone ever given an eyehole head larger eyes? I have a Liv Jake that I would like to have larger eyes since right now his eyes are even smaller than the ones on a Liv girl much less the Moxie Teenz heads my girls have. Right now I have him in sunglasses to give the illusion that his eyes aren't as small as they are but I really don't want to have to keep them on him. I have a spare pair of Liv eyes (and green ones at that) that might look good on him if it is even possible to do it.

It's true that Jake's eyes are much smaller than the Liv girls and about a quarter of the size of the MTs...but I'd be leery of trying to open them up any bigger. Not just because of the mechanical difficulties, but because of the way Gavin (the MT boy) looks with his huge, derpalicious eyes.

Not too bad, I guess, but I like Johnny (my Liv Jake custom) the way he is.

I like how that looks! I guess another reason I am doing this is I want him to have green eyes instead of blue and the only other way I could do that is to figure out which size he uses and order a set but I would rather just work with what I have on hand.

Anything is possible! Just take your time and do it slowly. I would take out the old eyes, then use a tiny rat-tail file to slowly sand down the eyehole into shape. DO they have removable headbacks? If not, you could always make a very careful slit and put the new eyes in that way. Some vinyl dolls have their eyes put in from the front, and if so there would not be a way to keep them in place once you modify him. You will probably need eye putty or silicone ear plugs (my fav.)

I would also be careful cutting it, vinyl moves and cuts weird. It doesn't cut smooth. Do what Zircon said, and just sand.

Actually instead of making any cuts that might mess up the doll try heating it up via a hair dryer.
Reading this thread made me remember this video showing how someone did it with their Liv girls...Could work the same way.

Doubt you should attempt this - but when I modded one of my obitsus to open eye I 1st used a craft knife to cut the rough shape, then one of those cone shaped sander heads on the dremel to smooth it out from the inside, so that there was a sort-of gradient in depth for the eyes to sit in

Thanks for the advice about the file. That was exactly the kind of thing I was needing to know so I don't go and do something stupid like use my exacto knife.

Well I gave it a go and he didn't turn out half bad. Right now his eyes are held in with tape until I get some earplugs
