Introducing...

Image

Rhordae!

Image

I botched the face-up in a few places so I'll probably re-do it later.

Image

If the ankle-balls were a little rounder the feet would have a greater range of motion. Even so, he holds poses fairly well.

Image

Preparing for flight!

Image

Image

The camera doesn't really pick it up as well but I blushed the whole body with a darker green. I think it looks fairly decent. I was afraid doing a traditional red-tone blushing would look odd so I shaded him with green.

Image

I haven't finished him yet, still need to paint all his claws and tips and horns. The original version of Rhordae had copper tips. I love copper and green together. I'm going to buy some copper acryl gloss if I can find it.

Image

Partially finished wing and the untouched one side by side. There's still a lot of work to do on them to get it just the way I want it. They're pretty tough. I've already dropped them several times. D'oh!

Image

Inside. I was tempted to try a metallic paint on the visible scales but I'm not sure that would blend in well with the resin.

Tempted to mod a traditional "razor back" dragon spine up the tail and his back and maybe on his head. I'm going to make him a pair of proper horns before the summer's out.

Image

You can tell where I messed up on the pink inside the eye. oopsies!

Image

Image

Image

"Quit takin' my picture lady!"

Image

Image

Stop calling them chicken feet! *wah*

Image

Nya nya nya...

Image

Pthpthpthpthpthpthpthpthpthptht!

Image

Hide n' go seek!

Image

No, it's hide n' go seek, not hide and go PEEK. :-p

Gah - he's even more adorable! The face-up doesn't look at all bad to me
I'm loving all the little dragony touches that the pastels have picked out - I can't wait to see what you manage with the paint!

@ Vetinari, thanks!! These little guys are just loaded with personality. I just hope I can find the right kind of paint and do it without screwing up. :-p

@ Cat. :-) He's a Resinsoul Pixiu. I love RS, they're dirt cheap. I'm not sure what I'll do about his hair. I've got a few ideas for fur-wigs but I'm tempted to leave him bald and just mod the headcap with horns and dragony spines. We'll see what I come up with... I might draw out some doodles and see if I like it. I'm afraid hair would look funny.

What do you guys think? Hair or modded head with horns and such?

Ah! He already has a lot of personality, doesn't he? The green is awesome! Does he have a name?

I have yet to see any with wigs that I love. It doesn't seem quite right to have hair on a reptilian creature. But maybe you'll find one that works! Don't listen to me!

Perhaps use some tiny feathers that stick up like spines, so it looks like those headressy intimidating thingies scientists think dinosaurs had before they became birds? (You can really tell that I'm not one of them! lol)

Kind of think he might be fine as is

He's adorable~ And your faceup/body blushing so far is really gorgeous, subtle yet enough to add dimension and personality :3

Yes, in looking at various dragons' heads, I noticed all manner of exciting fringe effects one could work with.

random deviant art page I found.

@Quidam, his name is Rhordae. He's 7 and I think quite the scamp.

Thanks Bombay, that's sweet of you to say. I'll finish him up when I get back from vacation (and when my pearl-Ex metallic powders come in the mail.)
