[Pics to come later once I get them off my phone]

So I took advantage of Prime Day and did an impulse on Porter, I didn't really know much about the Haunted dolls as what I'd seen hadn't grabbed me, but I figured I could resell him. Well his character seems all right and I like his look, and I'm getting ideas for a custom so it looks like he'll be staying.

He hasn't made the best first impression though. I don't think this is across the board I think I just had some bad luck as I've seen other Porters who are nothing like this.

First he has some kind of glueish residue on his face. My Gooliope had this too I can't think what would have caused it.
His hair is awful it's probably the worst box hair I've had (which is surprising considering how much less he has than the girls). They've obviously put styling gel in it, which I've experienced before years ago on a Ken doll, but where that had just enough to keep the shape this seems layered on making it rock hard and yet despite the purpose of the gel the part that is meant to flick over looks like a rats nest. Some also came out when I attempted to tame it using a brush.

He has ugly seams too, in fact he feels like he could be made from a different plastic to the girls I'm not sure if this is the same with all the Mansters, but they''re definitely more noticeable. I'm going to see if sanding will help, but one leg in particular at the knee doesn't even come together (I don't think the picture quite shows it I couldn't get it to focus clearly).

The last thing is a small niggle, I'm just curious as to whether others are like this now as none of my others are. There is multiple languages on everything on the box which has affected the diary. It's essentially been reduced to one page and the rest is filled up with other languages. I imagine this is probably a cost cutter, but I do think it's a little distracting and ruins the diary aspect for anyone who likes having those.

If I really wanted to niggle I would say his face mold doesn't reflect his illustration to well, but I like it well enough his profile is nice :) and I rarely collect these dolls with intent of them being the stock characters anyway.

I don't want any one to consider this a review, (more just me documenting my experience) or be put off buying him as I said I think I just got a bad one. Maybe it was a lousy batch which would explain them putting it up with the discount, but I definitely would have sent him back if I'd paid the full price (which Amazon had at £23.99/$37 I got him for half price.). I just hope I never get the same result from Gil or Invisibilly the ones who are on my wishlist. Maybe I'll have to make sure I get them in real life instead and examine them carefully. All I'm wondering now is could he glow in the dark? He seems the right colour for it.
