Faun in the Works

So a while back I ordered a few skull caps to replace the hard ones on the CAM Monster Highs that you can't root. It took forever to get here but when they did a freebee came with them. A set of tiny horns. Well to make a long story short...

"Too late," whispers Danni.

Anyhow, I have wanted a Faun for a while and they would work perfect, but I had no body I liked for the idea. Then Larc needed the orange cat girl head for one of her Erin projects and I had a left over Cat body. With a little luck an extra Draculara head could become my Faun.

Then Larc sent along a huge box of goodies, and...

"I told you it was going to be a long one." Mia covers her mouth trying not to laugh.

In it was some dolly hair supplies. A nice redish I guess she had planed to use on one of her Erin's at some point just jumped out at me. Draculara, Cat body, hair, and horns... Sounds like a faun to me.

And here is a warning for everyone who buys Monster Highs. That glue they fill the heads with causes yellowing. See the more flesh tone scalp. That wasn't me. It is from the glue staining the head. I'm lucky I removed it and the hair when I did because it had started to creep down onto the face area. It doesn't come off with washing or acetone.

Her face up is done and I'm waiting to do the sealing at this point. Then the gloss and she will be ready for her horns.

Thank you. She had more work done last night.

First her last seal with the Testors before I put the shine on her eyes and lips.

Time for your close up.

I wanted her to have that wooly fill in her hair so I left the curl in the hair that Larc sent me. I will still need to give it a wash and that will likely result in nicer curls after. But for now she's just happy to have her horns.

Second she need an extra joint in the lower legs to give her that proper goat leg feel. Trouble is Monster High's don't have that. I fixed the issue.

First I cut her feet off about half an inch above the ankles. Surprise surprise, their lower legs are not hollow at all. I had to ask Dad if he would mind drilling holes in the four pieces for me. He did and with the joint repair kit extra pieces I was able to give her ankle joints! :woohoo:

Now, don't worry. You won't actually see the joints when I'm done.

See...

She is actually standing there on her own, but it was rather tricky to get her to do so. The trouble is the hoof shoes. I never intended for her to have shoes but rather sculpted hooves so that I could get them in the right position. At the moment I don't have the clay to make them, so these shoes will have to do.

She does have a tail that can be posed as well. Sadly I forgot to take pictures of that.

As much as I would like to say she's done and complete I can't leave the hooves like this. They simply don't work right. So I will have to fix that issue.

Are you going to paint the body skintone to match the head skintone?

Actually it isn't that different from the head. The trouble is the shine of the plastic body picked up a lot more of the light than the head did. I use the Toralei body. She will be getting blushing and shadowing on the body though.

Are those Obitsu joints that you used for her ankles? That is so clever! I've been trying to figure out how to give a satyr/faun jointed ankles.
