Barbie, Jenny, Fashion Royalty, Obitsu and 1/6 resins - basically anything 10-12inch/21-27cm or in the neighborhood.

I think she just means it looks dull when it is wet.

No, like it can actually look less shiny when dried. Ever see a Barbie that gets played with in the bath/pool a lot? Its fluffed out and less shiny and doesn't have as nice a texture anymore.

Lol, I'm a manly man. And yeah, kanekalon is not good for using in water. I cringe every time I have a doll with gel in it's hair cuz I know it'll be dull by the time I wash it :/

Yeah, I have other dolls with nylon but it's simply dreadful with MGAE for some reason. Yeah, maybe they're poor from the Mattel lawsuit and every thing is not MGAE's fault at all. *cough*

I'll believe that if Bratz Masquerade comes out looking as nice as the promo.

If not... yeah.

I did that test ages ago but I can't remember which was which and I can't find the website that I found the info on either :(. When I find it, I'll post it here.

On another note... where's Lokiholic? :( She used to be my pm buddy but she's been MIA for a looong time now and my last pm hasn't even been read by her yet... :(

This is probably not important by now - but I actually did a little spot about doll hair types on my blog.

I use all kinds of hair when I do my roots actually. I like the doll kanekalon a lot but it's expensive and I find the newer human silk kanekalons some of them are getting darned close to that now. Then again I like a bit of texture sometimes in my doll's hair. I will deliberately choose to use coarser hair, the old kind of braiding hair sometimes just for fun. The older saran and nylon doll hair is nice though. I even like mohair sometimes. A lot of the old Genes had really nice hair and they used nylon I think it was. I kind of missed that with the Wu produced dolls. I'm an equal opportunity person when it comes to doll hair though. I use whatever I can get that looks right for the job. Human, doll, I've even been known to cannibalize from other dolls and their wigs to get what I want done. As for Liv wigs vs MT's wigs it depends upon which doll and what wig. The last few, the ones that cost more to buy? They were not bad at all. Those I didn't even have to wash, but the ones that came on the first batch of dolls, not so nice. I have the two toned brown pouf wig, the long blond with pink streaks and a few from the 2nd batch of dolls. They were okay, almost as nice as Liv, and btw, not all Liv wigs are made the same. I've literally bought the same doll several times over and out of 6 of the same doll wig 2 were total crap, 4 were lovely. There's a lot of variance in QC with Spinmaster apparently.

I use what ever I can get my hands on from internet bought rooting hair to harvesting novelty color wigs like glow in the dark. Being that I use the needle and thread method anything without a texture that will fit in a hole goes. I even used Monster High hair on a Volks for a root job.

As for Moxie Teenz wigs the one that came on the first round Tristan feels a bit greasy but fits, I bought the dark curly one but it doesn't stay on. Liv wigs have done okay some colors, like the green, just felt a bit greasy but do fine after a gentle wash with hand soap. The only hair I think I ever messed up in my adult life was the first MH Cleo because I over worked it trying out different styles.

In my 30 plus years of dolls the only factory #$%! is a Mattel dull auburn from the 90s, everyone with that color has a dry frizzed out mess. Everyone else has held up okay.
