A special doll

Postby endlessnameless » Mon Jul 13, 2015 4:49 pm

My one doll is a very unique doll (Maybe even one of a kind!)
Her name is Lucy and she was born a boy.

She is a transgender barbie doll and She was made from a Derek from 12 dancing princesses doll. She also only has on half of her right arm.
She is quite a project to work on because not a lot of clothes fit her and I made her wig (and am planning to make more)
She is however still very pretty

I made the shirt in this photo
Most people think she is like a joke or something which is sad
I made her because there isn't a transgender Barbie and I was thinking that maybe it could help people somehow...
My grandpa calls her a Caitlyn Jenner doll which is great because Caitlyn is very beautiful.
Please no hate thank you

I think she looks great :)

I'd write a more detailed reply, but my brain has been eaten by a summer cold and can't form coherent thoughts properly.

Looking forward to seeing more wigs, and how did she hurt her arm? Someone here might be able to help fix it.

She is very pretty! Did you need to do any body mods when putting her together?
By the way, the wig looks awesome for a first attempt. I don't think my first wig was anywhere near that nice. :/

It was a Barbie we used to play with so it kind of got rough  It not her original arm either. Its from a Barbie of the same doll (we had two) that I taped on.

Thank you! And I just taped kleanex to her chest and hips. Its easier to change if I need to.

Nicely done! I'm all for diversity. And bravo for making a wig! I still have yet to try that.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

I love your doll. I can think of several other people who have customized dolls to be transgender, so it is not at all an odd thing to do! Your work is lovely, thanks for sharing. She looks very happy and content.

Thank you very much! I haven't worked on clothes much because I can't seem to make them fit but I still try!
