Another charity shop find

Postby Arkinlae » Tue Jul 07, 2015 12:40 am

Its an addiction now, ever since a friend of mine found a Blythe (or maybe Bassak I'm not sure) in one I've been hoping to be as lucky.

Only found a (obviously fake) Sindy this time. A real Tonner Sindy is still on the wishlist (I only had the ugly Hasbro kind as a child), but she will do until I obtain one. Will make a good experimental doll or I might turn her into one of those punk Sindys which is what got me interested in them again.

My toddler seems to want to assist on de-hairing her, but I'll leave this scrap until I buy her new stuff. I'll be adding some more plugs as what she has already doesn't even meet that hairline, line that's etched on her head

Only thing that worries me is how squishy her head is (obviously being fake I assume its cheaper plastic) I'm not sure what I'd do about safe materials to clean her/touch up her face compared to other dolls like, Pullip or Monster High, and I don't know if there's a method at all of hardening it, just to make it less squishy (I hope it makes sense).

The world of plastic/vinyl/ABS is still quite new to me I'm so used to resin.

A general term for these knock offs is Hong Kong Clone and there's plenty of love for them. Her original hairstyle might be a bubble cut which would hide the hair line. There's no hardening the plastic, they're cheap with crappy hair and that's part of the charm. Think cheap fashion dolls made for knit and crochet projects.

Well I have an idea to at least give her new hair and body (not sure whether she'd match an Azone or Obitsu better), but if all else fails my son seems to like her :)
