Puki........ In........Space!

This is Mission Control, commence flight suit testing for Puki One. Puki One, do you copy?

PUKI ONE: Are we there yet?



As you can see, progress towards the launch of Puki One is continuing. The helmet is almost finished and will be cast up soon. The faceplate is made of plastic and will eventually be attached to allow it to be raised and lowered (if my idea works). The spacesuit is available (with some modifications) from scrapbooking stores. The boots are Kelly boots, and the hands are Puki mitten hands. As more information is available we will keep you posted! With modification the helmet will be able to be converted into a motorcycle helmet!

oh, wow! I've had a silver crochet spacesuit from maisiedoats for tiny!tibby since...before he shipped, lol! I've been waffling on the 'right' helm to go with ever since...this could be ideal!

For those who are not in the loop, we actually plan to LAUNCH a puki. Really. Into the air, if not into actual space. Yes, we are building a rocket that will carry the intrepid puki some 500+ feet into the air and return our pukinaut safely back to the ground so that she can make additional flights. There will be pukinaut testing and full photo-documentation of the adventures of pukinauts!

I believe we plan to use an egg launcher (a puki weighs the same as an egg or less) and will be filming from my camera to prove that the puki is actually inside the rocket as it launches.
