Hmmm...I'm not sure if this belongs here or not since she's not really a name brand doll of any sort BUT she is really small!

Anyway, I was surfing evil bay...and found a Victorian doll that I thought was adorable. She's 5.5 inches tall in Victorian formal dress. She really is gorgeous so I HAD to order her...and at the price of under $12 US, how could I refuse? The description says her arms and legs are posable...and her head moves. She's porcelain...so I wonder if she's jointed like an old-style Barbie? If not, I really don't care because 1. I love her dress 2. she's a red head and 3. she has a cute expression.

She'll also fit into the story line of my tinies. She'll move into the house and won't see the bitty bitsus but THEY will see her! They'll be house spirits/sprites/elves, what have you. I suppose at some point they will make themselves known to the newest doll house addition (I'm making a doll house out of decorative boxes).

Then much to my dismay, I found a DOLL HOUSE FOR MY TINIES! It's even open in the back with four rooms. 8-) So, yeah, I bought that too. Hubby was kinda disgusted with me as I'm running out of room for all my doll things.

Haha, I actually have a dollhouse that I'm STILL working on. I've had it for years. It's just expensive to do all the rooms how I want it. I had electricty running through some of the rooms... I wonder if it still works. It only fits in my parents house and has unfortunately been subjected to some small child abuse ._.

Dollhouses are quite expensive and some of the furniture? *faints* Sorry to hear that the house has been subjected to some abuse. =( Do you have any photos of your dollhouse? (I love dollhouses.)

You know, I'd need very good directions to have electricity running through mine if I actually do get an actual dollhouse. That's something I know nothing about, except that when I flip the switch, the lights turn on!

I'm also working on fixing up my old doll house. Once I get a little farther with it I'll post some pictures. My husband offered to wire it for me but instead he's going to help me make a couple tiny battery powered lights that I can move around when I feel like it.

I love dollhouses, too. But, I prefer the battery operated lights. My dollhouse has the wiring halfway done, and I read the book, but I am still confused so the wiring is coming out and I will buy the battery operated ones as I can afford them.
I pinned all the ones I want on my dollhouse pinterest board-with notes on how many I need of each.

My tinies have a dollhouse I found at Goodwill a few months back. So far it's bare bones and I plan on redoing most of it but I'm slowly building and collecting all the pieces. I love dollhouses and miniatures, but I got rid of all of my stuff when I first moved from Alaska. Now that I have dollies I'm kicking myself, but oh well, I get to start over.

Thanks for link! Last time I was looking at purchasing lighting everything minatures.com had was wired in some way. These make my life far easier :D

famedglory : I had an old fashioned tin dollhouse once upon a time, in a land far, far away. :D I'd love to see it when you get it presentable!

richilia : I think you're both right about the battery operated lights. dhawktx mentioned those to me awhile back. I've found some...but with my other hobby, I have to decide which I want to buy first, dollhouse stuff or film and chemistry and paper. lol! By the way, I love your pinterest dollhouse links. Thank you!

Linteia : What a find at Goodwill! The ones here in Illinois don't carry anything like that anymore, not even on their auction site. I'm sort of heart broken about that. Dollhouses and miniatures have always fascinated me. Sometimes, it is fun starting over, though. Sometimes. :/ Not always.

1/12 scale is the most common dollhouse size so you'll be able to find stuff and instruction books everywhere. Hobby Lobby has dollhouse kits and stuff. Tricking out kits has a fandom of it's own.

As for the buying first I'd say film and chemistry stuff because hunting around junk stores and yard sales could turn up some dollhouse finds and the hobby isn't going anywhere.

The abuse isn't horrible, but I've had light fixtures torn off and I swear there are things missing >_< I can't prove it but I'm pretty sure I'm missing chairs. I've had to put the house back in order a number of times because for some reason a 5 year old think the tub should be in the living room and the fridge in the bathroom. Lol Next time I go to my parents house I'll take pictures, it's a lovely Victorian style house that's open in the back and a side panel that also opens.

there's rooms I want to finish, probably going to replace the doll family in there, and carpeting/"tile" I'd like to put in. lol I might wallpaper over some of the walls to change the rooms. Add some walls to the top of the staircase so that there isn't random staircases leading into a kids room lol. One thing that always gets me is the open doorways into rooms that should probably have doors :P
My dad did the electricty and it looks like he just ran wires through the edges of the walls, cutting out grooves for them, but I know nothing about electricty >_<
