A few weeks ago I started really getting into looking at bjd's. Its not been long at all. I'm very arty though and have been into dollhouses for awhile. I really want a bjd somewhat soon, but am trying to save up and do tons of research first to see what is all out there and such.
Well I found this lps blythe doll on sale at Big Lots for 5 dollars. I figured I would experiment with face up and what not. Well the faceup one I'm working on was having issues because the eyes are difficult. So I went back and got another one with blue eyes. This one...
I cut off all her hair. Cut down her wonky eyelashes (I'm not a big fan of the blythe eyelashes? Is it just me?) and then I started doing a mold on her head with paper air drying clay by sculptey. I got it from Joann's for 4.99 with a 40% off coupon.
Anyways... I sculpted out the head after my husky.
I let it dry, sanded it a little and then painted it and sealed it. I then made the little outfit out of a sweater I had that I was going to give away and I cut it up instead. Not the best made outfit, but cute. I sewed some little glass beads on it.
This is how she came out. The shoes on her are the ones that came with the doll. I'd like some different ones.
So technically this is my first doll! I'm working on the original still that I bought that I'm getting a wig for and doing a faceup on. They will both be living in my doll house. If you want to see any other pictures my flickr folder I'm keeping pics in is http://www.flickr.com/photos/tyggereye/sets/72157634792063748/
Thanks for looking. Its so cool to be able to share this with other dolly people!!
