Pullip - Obitsu plasti-melt?

Is there still plasti-melt if you keep the original body on? I am debating buying my first pullip.

I recently sold off my 40cm parabox which I do slightly miss but she was too big for my desk and displaycase.

I did wander across several tutorials on how to obi-pullip. Is the melt issue only on the older models, or does it effect the recently released heads as well?

Other pullip nooby question, is there a way besides tape to prevent the chemical reaction?

I love the obitsu bodies since they are durable and look pretty decent. But not sure if I wish to have a newer doll around $100+ going into chernobyl mode.

Off topic for a sec.....I thought about going hujoo berry with obi body but her face sculpt seems a bit chibi. Hujoo body/head vs pullip are a massive difference (was trying to keep a 8" head roughly for my custom bunny wigs).

I do love the eye mechanism on pullip! Hopefully I will find a doll head at around 8" and still work well with obi 27cm.

Enough of my rambling and dreams.

Thanks for any assistance.

that's... Really Scary, Actually.

these firms have Got to get their chemistry right... or at least make certain that their Chinese contractor factories do so.

i'm certain it often keeps many of us wide awake at night in nervous wonderment of what the next ten years might or might not do to some of these rare and expensive Polymer Princesses of ours, at least the ones made by the smaller firms with less experience in how to do things right for the long haul...

It's definitely disappointing and scary at the same time. I do know the 27cm Hujoo/obi has no issue like this. Which is pretty awesome, but my GF says all the 24-27cm hujoo faces are too chibi. The feels of being veto'd!

But yeah hopefully in the future they will make the pullips less volatile in chemical makeup.

some of those Pullips have GREAT looking faces too...
at least some of the customs i've seen over on "Dolly Market"
i imagine many of them would look downright sumptuous
on larger, more proportionate doll bodies...

Indeed and even a few have really pretty stock faceups. And don't get me started on some of the cool clothing they have XD

I sold a couple things to get myself something for my bday. I debated for a couple days but when my gf veto'd the hujoo yomi and berry faces I had to seek something less "chibi" her words

I at first went digging into this whole obitsu 27cm to pullip tutorials and horror/success stories. Then came the biggest issue finding an overall face/faceup that I liked and getting the ok seal of approval. One of my first choices of course was the new release Souseiseki...gf veto...showed her some other random ones and was waiting to show her my favorite last to choices til the end. Sadly the Banshee sold before I could show her...but I did finally commit to Pullip Regen Noir.

I am hoping my 8" bunny faux fur wigs will fit her head! May need to look up if pullip has chemical reactions to fur hair T.T

I love a lot of the goth outfit culture and this girl stood out to me as a doll who could easily be my friend! I will not the chain on the face is going and I may lighten her lips to a dark dark red.
Overall though she is very cute.
How can one say no to heterochromia on top of it all.....
When she arrives I will check her piercings (mouth/ear) and probably do away with them. Although! I could give her these bat wing jewelry pieces i got at hobby lobby several weeks back!

Looks like I need to order a body to even out her body, although if I leave the body alone I may never feel the burn of pulli-bitsu meltdown! D:

Pipe dream crushed. Order was cancelled as it was out of stock. I was getting all hopped up and ready for this. I guess this is Aurea's way of saying I don't want to be a Werebunny pullip. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be. :(

That's because there's a better option coming your way. Dolls have a way of knowing about these things.
