Wow! That's why he looked so pinheaded when I got him! I couldn't believe he was made to be like that! :laughs: Thanks for letting me know. I have been going on thinking that IH heads are wayyyyyyy too small for their bodies. :)

Still, if an IH 65cm head is that much smaller than most smallish SD sized heads, and about the same as a large MSD sized head, their 70cm head couldn't be that much larger, could it?

Do you know if Felix's head is typical of their 65cm size? (Really small?)

I have no idea, sorry! I've only ever seen an SID Barahan in person. But Iple heads tend to be smallish in general, and they don't vary all that much as far as I've seen (judging by my girls, whose heads look the exact same size, and two other Iples I've seen at meetups), so I'd guess he's as good an example of a "typical Iple" as any.

:D Loving the new album - it's so very ...Bowie, you can tell it's one of his on the radio within the 1st few bars just from the style ...gah I'm desperately trying to work out how to get to the Bowie V&A exhibition at the moment - I think I'd happily spend hours there!

Head event coming up!

They did say that they've only got a few characters so there's no way to predict who'll be available, but I'm crossing fingers for you there'll be a Luo ;)

If they have a NS Dexter somewhere, I want a backup head

Oh yeah, there would be a clothing sale after they move to a new webspace.

Does anyone know how much a big boy head like Luo's would cost a la carte? I'm going to check on the 27th of course, but I was just wondering if even buying a head is a realistic thing with Iplehouse. I mean if a complete doll is almost $700-1000 what's a head going to cost? I don't mind the idea of buying his head and trying to find a body for him down the road, but I'm just wondering how much of a dent in the credit limit we're talking about. Thanks for telling me too. I do appreciate the head's up, pun intended, grin. I've actually asked Iplehouse about it actually. Waiting on a reply. I even told them a defect head would be fine by me. It would. So long as I have that face to work with I'd be fine. But if it had minor flaws I think I could live with that just to have him. I'd definitely need a rock bottom price and a longer lay-a-way than 3 months though to make it happen. Head first, then we'll find him a body I guess, if it's even doable...

According to bjdcollectasy, the event is "buy a doll get an extra head free."
The official announcement from ipplehouse is a little ambiguous in phrasing so I think it could go either way. I guess you'll just have to keep watching.

Oh shoot. So likely no Luo heads being sold separately. That sucks. Well, who knows maybe I'll get lucky and they'll offer to let me do something otherwise. At least I asked. All they can do is say nope, right? I'd just save up for him, but I'm kind of afraid they'll change him out, stop making him in a basic form before I could get there. I'd at least like to grab a head now so that wouldn't be an issue. They're always going to make bodies that fit him. They need to for all their big boys but eventually they'll stop making that head sculpt and my chance to get him will be gone. He does seem like he's a popular guy. They've made a real skin version of him that apparently sold right out so I'm guessing they might carry him for a year or so more at least. I'm just wondering how much a head will run me. If it's $500 or something like I'm not sure I can rationalize going there. I really wish it was possible though. I've fallen really, really hard.

Wow yarwel, I didn't know that. They told a DoA user they were selling their old in-stock heads ... oh well, I'm probably out either way.

magkelly, they don't usually stop making them. The only ones they ever stopped making were the old YIDs because the heads didn't fit the new bodies any more after the total re-design that lots of people asked for (in the girls' case, a shorter, curvier, more realistic female body as opposed to the tall, skinny bodies every other company seems to offer). The EID guys are "offline for maintenance" as the joints are being redesigned, the ladies have already been re-released with all the old head sculpts still availble. Even the Limited Edition dolls become available again via Custom Doll System the year following their LE ... I can't really picture Iple retiring a sculpt just like that.
The most I've seen Iple heads go for on the DoA MP was around $240 max, and I seem to remember those were the newest, only-just-released sculpts.

They've already killed the head event whatever it was. They apparently took too many orders, more than the heads they actually had. So they're cancelling some orders. Luo is actually out of stock now and btw they raised the base price so now he's even more expensive. I guess they had to pay for all that site reworking somehow, sigh. The site does look nice though and there appear to be new dolls. All I see on sale now is clothes. Some decent deals there to be had, but nothing I'm particularly into. I guess I'll just have to start a little fund for him and hope they still have him in a year.

I'm already working on one for a pair of more weather resistant DSLR's for work. That's a major priority so I don't know how much $$$ his bank will see for a while, but every little bit helps, right? The K-5's or K-30's they have to come first though. I'm turning down work because I can't shoot near the beaches and pools and so forth. My K-x is an awesome camera but there's so much dirt, humidity, sand, et all here that I have to be very careful with it. Ideally I need two weather resistant bodies for work and a good WR portrait lens, and those have to come before Luo unfortunately. Besides I get them they might help me afford him.... :P
