Suggestions on doing tears on a faceup?

Check craft stores for silk flowers and stuff, take the doll to make sure you find the right size.

If you don't need the tears to be removable, then build them up with gloss. Mix in some chalk pastel (I'd use iridescent blue shimmer instead) on the early layers, and continue to build up your tear shape. Years ago I put tears on a doll using built up gloss. I've also used a similar technique for small scars.
