Random Kelly Doll Musings from Katt's Mind

As some people on this board probably know, I have fallen down the Kelly rabbit hole over the last few years. I've been extensively documenting everything I can find about Kelly and her little friends, from fashion packs to playsets to all the little cardboard accessories that came hidden in the box.

One of the things I've been working on is figuring out how many dolls of each friend existed, and who seemingly didn't stick around. The friend in particular that didn't seem to be around much is Becky, which is interesting because she was one of the first three "L'il Friends" created for Kelly. She was there for a short time, and then seemingly only really appeared again on occasion in holiday lines, mainly the Halloween lines in the early to mid 2000s. I don't know why, but I find the idea that maybe Becky's parents brought her to visit so she could go trick or treating with her old friends really sweet, and it kind of makes sense. Halloween is one of the only "big holidays" where Becky's family wouldn't necessarily have plans with relatives. Plus, you KNOW Kelly lives in a rich neighborhood, they're DEFINITELY giving out full sized chocolate bars on that street.

Another thing I've noticed during my mania is Kelly's friend Kayla. Or should I say friends. The original Kayla is a little blond, green eyed, white girl (though I believe her eyes were brown on occasion). By the end, Kayla was a dark haired Asian girl. It seems that at some point, little blond Kayla must have either moved away or drifted away from Kelly's inner circle, and a new girl named Kayla took her place.

These are just my musings and head canons based on my travels down the endless road of Kelly collecting, and I wanted to put them out there to open up the door for discussion. I'm sure there will be other things I discover down the road (for instance, how people here helpede figure out who the mystery boy on the box of the Lemonade Stand playset is), but this was just on my mind as I catalog some things and do some research. Any thoughts?
