I am Kae.
I found out about bjds about 6 months ago from a friend, and since then have started a "collection" which they mostly represent characters from a book I started writing when I was 13. They are nice because I got stuck and having something real to connect to my book has helped me think through the parts I got stuck on. I never really liked dolls as a kid, but I realized I like bjds because of the customization and art.
So far, I have 3 bjds. The first one I ordered was a dollzone Elsa. She is my absolute favorite and I loves her =3 My next one is an Island Doll Amy, who was the first to arrive. I wasn't sure how much I liked her, but she is definitely growing on me, though she could never take the place of my dollzone elsa. the last I received is a dream high studio micro 5cm bjd piko. I don't think I am going to keep him, as he does NOT pose too well (standing up is fine, but he cant even sit!), there are many flaws such as the headcap does not fit and his torso has a gap, and dream high studio has made me mad.[I was told i would be emailed when he shipped, and they didnt. I had no idea he was shipped and the carrier didnt leave any notice that I had a package. three months later, I contact dhs to find out it had shipped last november.]
I plan in the very near future to get a 1/6 dollzone nemo and a 1/6 fairyland rachel. Nemo first though =3
Anyways, to finish the introduction, my dollzone elsa is named Eli =3 and my Island doll amy is named Lynn. Piko will not be named, since im selling him anyways. And I havent named Nemo... Or rachel (though im not getting her anytime soon) but if you have any ideas for names, i wouldnt mind the help >.>
If you read all of this, you are awesome Lol.

Welcome to DS! Having story characters is lots of fun and it can really help to have a physical representation to figure out things. :) Sorry to hear about the problems you had with Dream High Studio.

Welcome! The next few dolls I plan to get are all based on a story I created years ago, too. I love that about BJDs and how amazingly different one sculpt can be from one owner to the next.

Hi and welcome! That's so cool that your characters are based off a book you started writing at 13. :)

It's ok. I mean, he is really adorable and if given the time, Im sure i would bond with him, but I have a friend who wants to buy him and I know she would probably give him the love he deserves. And she wouldnt have the bad experience to associate with him. And his headcap doesnt really stay on, so I'm not comfortable with him out of the box, making bonding even harder. But it happens.
