Hello from the Great Wet North!

New to doll collecting and wondering if I've just entered my second childhood! I admired the dolls of a lady I met in a writing group, but didn't want to jump that deep into the hobby right off so I acquired a Moxie Teenz first. However when a great sale coincided with a good paycheck, I bought the Ellowyne Wilde I'd been looking at for some months. (I've named her Joan Wilder.) I mainly got her so I can make clothes for her since she has much better figure than I and looks good in anything and I like to sew.

I'm in a 50-something who lives in Alaska with my hubby and grown son. I work part time at our local library and I'm a published author of one kid's book so far. Besides sewing and writing, I also bead and scrapbook. I'm currently re-painting a jewelry box as a dresser for Joan and her few things I've made/bought for her to wear so far.

Joan has a Victorian dress I made from a pattern I got on ebay and I'm currently blinging out a medieval dress I purchased on ebay. Her next outfit will be a Lolita dress. The Moxie Teen (who still needs a better name than Tristan) is getting outfitted as Ozma, Princess of Oz but it's been years since I sewed without a pattern so that's taking a little longer.

Looking forward to finding some other Ellowyne owners who want to talk doll fashion.

Welcome!! :D I also want to publish at least one kid's book some day. That's my big dream in life really. And I also have one Ellowyne, she was a gift and I haven't had the time to make her clothes yet, unfortunately. Can't wait to see pictures of your dolls :D

I got published mainly because of my sister's determination to illustrate a children's book. :D

Haven't quite figured out how to post pictures yet, but I assume I should put them in the 1/4 & Tonner sized thread I spotted.

ELLWOYNES!!!!! Yay!

Hubby and I only have about 50 Ells and Prus. We can talk Ellowyne and Prudence all day. Our current obsession are the 60cm Obitsus and Dollfie Dreams, but they sit right next to Ells and Prus and my Tell-Tale Heart Ell is a little sister to one of my big girls.

Welcome! Doll lovers of all kinds here!

This should be a link to some of my Ellowyne pics: http://photobucket.com/misheru_ellopru? ... =slideshow

Wow! What a lot of gorgeous girls you have! I'm not sure I'll ever move on to bigger dolls, but I sure like to look at them.
