Playline doll and BJD collector. Also hoping for help with older dolls - composition, porcelain, etc. A sibling inherited a rather large doll collection, and they've just been sitting in a closet. At least one has white stuff on it that looks like mildew (feels like plastic). I'm sort-of adopting the collection in hope of restoring it for sibling's kids, who the collection will be passed down to. Looking for restoration recommendations. Right now, I'm starting with water and highly diluted dish soap...

Oh, my, you sent me down a rabbit hole. That is an excellent website!
I suspect it's mold, sadly. The parents kept all the dolls in a closet that didn't get much air.
