Yo-SD sized baby crib - WIP

Postby MorbidNeeds » Thu Feb 21, 2013 4:04 pm

Almost half way in having made my first Yo-SD sized baby crib, or perhaps
SD/Hound sized, well, it would actually be both, anyway...

Had some things laying around for the purpose, lucky me, and sat down to
start slowly transforming it all into this:

Image

Early stages. The two bottom pieces haven't yet been glued together here.
The top piece has holes drilled into to fit in the wooden bars to be glued in
later on.

Image

Bottom pieces having been glued together it was time for the wooden bars
to be glued in as well, attach the edge thingy which I have no clue what is
called, if anything at all, with some apoxy and here we have it. I can't do
anything much but wait for both glue and apoxy to dry up and tomorrow I'll
find something to use for legs and start painting it all white.

After that there'll be the whole sewing a mattress, pillows, duvet and some
bed linen. I'm so excited already!

Thank you, glad you like it!

Had some leftover wooden bars that I glued together to be the bed’s legs, then
proceeded to glue those on, add some little apoxy details and here you have it.

Image

Added some more details in apoxy after as I wanted it to be a bit higher up.

Image

Oh, and some knobs to the bedposts too, just had to.

Image

Picture quality isn’t the best, but I don’t much mind as once this is painted and
all I’ll be shooting some proper pictures.

And because I had a spare piece of apoxie left:

Now I just have to wait a few hours or four for the apoxie to dry up and I will start
painting it all.

TBC!

Thanks! Glad you like it, and here it is:

Applied the first coat of paint, looks pretty neat if I might say so myself.

Sewing a mattress, finding something to use for a bed sheet, the duvet and pillow I already had lying around from a failed attempt at a bed and violá!
