Woo! Saw the West End show last night! Peter Joback was brilliant, as the 1st tenor in years I thought he was pitch perfect - and his voice was less warble-ly on the high sustained notes than Crawford used to be. At certain points it really really sounded like Crawford though (not at all a bad thing to me Crawford = <3).

Killian Donnelly was Raoul (he managed to make the rather unlikeable Vicomte seem sympathetic - and the surprise jump from the scaffolding at the back of the stage when it was still about 3/4 of the way up near the top into a pit was scary :? )

Woo! It was brilliant! (... may have bought one of the replica masks in the theatre...)

Heehee my sister played Christine at the Westend until last year, she's having a baby now. I've been to see it a shameful 13 times! I LOVE PHANTOM!! *big fan* What's your favourite part?

Glad it was good :) I always wanted to see the West End version, just never got a chance to

Hugh Panaro has always been my favorite Phantom (but it's more because I've seen him as the Phantom and he helped do a fundraiser at my college to create a real theatre program soooo I'm biased lol).

Wow! *stating the obvious* she must have an amazing voice!

I love the Point of No Return and the end of All I Ask of You Reprise - basically most of the stuff where the guy playing the Phantom shows off his voice. Though I became very aware that Joback appears to dislike heights! (the poor guy, he was still really professional, he just didn't look very comfortable up there) He was hanging on for dear life on the floating angel gargoyle thingy, and didn't seem to want to let go of the cross in the graveyard scene!

I was blown away by the lake-scene, it was staged so beautifully.

I'm really glad I saw the West-End version, I've heard some alarming things about the UK tour wrt the direction etc.

:( As I type this Peter Joback is performing what could possibly be his last ever show as the Phantom, probably the final lair scene has just begun... *sniff sniff*

1st and probably last tenor in years!
