I have a question. My hubby needs some sanding sponges for a project. He needs several ultra fine grits. Who or what would you guys recommend and where may we find them? I really appreciate it. THanks!!

er, i admit to cheating sometimes. once in a while you can find these manicure blocks, each side is a finer grit of sand and a few sides just for buffing.

Auto parts shops in the painting section.

Think about it: they need to get things glass smooth for that gorgeous shine. Polishes do not do that.

Seconding auto parts shop. In my local friggin' wal-mart, they have 1000 - 3000 grit sandpaper.

Aw darn, at first glance I thought your title said Model Knitters.

But as to sanding sponges, I don't remember the grit but I was just looking at some at Home Depot a few days ago. Or look somewhere with ceramics supplies. The ceramics studio in town carries some for removing goof-ups when painting but the mark up is staggering.
