For me and my dolls, all of them. I'm making 3 copies of this. The Barbies get one, my 16" girls get one, and I get one. This has got to be the most gorgeous vintage inspired cocktail dress I've seen in years, absolutely LOVE it. These are the best pics I've seen online. Isn't it fabulous?

Oooo typically I'm not such a fan of velvet but that is fabulous. Can't wait to see your version(s) of it!

I agree with Jobee; usually when I see Katy Perry's clothes I cringe but that dress is absolutely gorgeous. I would love to see what you make from this inspiration, because I lack the skills to pull off anything this complicated myself.

Now that is a classic, and hot, 50s cocktail dress! If I could still wear things like that I would totally make one. I was going to say that none of my girls would like one....but that's not true. Bella would wear it in blue, white or black...hmm....

It's really not that hard I don't think. You've got 2 pieces for the bodice and they're just triangles, gathered here and there for a textured effect then wrapped across each other. The skirt is just your basic 50's circle skirt puffed up with a net petticoat. I'm going to have to play with it and see but I think I can make that fairly easily actually and I'm not that great of a seamstress yet. I've actually got about 6 yards of red velvet in almost exactly that color. I was going to make a cape and an evening dress for me but I'll try it out on the dolls then make this instead. It's more 50's than what I had in mind. I was going to do a simple long sheath with a u-top and no sleeves but I really like it. I'll try it out on the 16" dolls first I think. That old Silken Flame swing coat of Barbie's though would look so nice with this....
