Will you sell your doll to me?

Saw the topic on DoA and decided to ninja it for fun and chatty purposes.
As we all well know, BJDs are not something most people have heard about. Anyone that has taken their doll to a public place, such as a restaurant or mall, has had people stare at, comment on, or ask about the strange little thing you're carrying about.
Some people want to know where they can acquire such a doll. Others take it a step further and would simply like to know if they can have yours.
I've heard a few stories like this, and wonder how many people it's really happened to.
I heard one man actually offered to trade is dog for a doll he saw while passing by a meet!
So, has any one ever offered to buy your doll off of you, or asked if they could have it?

I've never taken my dolls out, so thus far it has not been a major issue. The little girl I mentor did ask if she could have Amelia, but she's only 8 and really doesn't know any better.
I did love the line she gave me: "Oh, but I love her so much that I could cry! Can't I please have her?" She has a thing for baby dolls, and itty-bitty baby Amelia made her fall in love!

I had my Hujoo in my purse (sometimes Ella just wants to go for a ride) at a family dinner and one of my cousin's toddlers went through my bag and found her. She then decided that Ella was hers and my cousin couldn't understand 1. Why I had a doll and 2. why I wouldn't let her three year old keep it.

And being the bitchy old lady I am, I would explain that 1. Because I want to, 2. If her three year old gets my doll then I get her ___________(fill in blank with something outrageous that the person owns) and 3. perhaps she should teach her toddler to keep the hell out of other people's purses/bags. It's a good thing my niece/nephew are in another country - I'd be a terrible aunt LOL
If anyone expresses interest in my doll I inform them of the starting price - buck nekkid and bald. That usually ends the discussion right then and there.

I was thinking, I don't know if it's wrong of me, but if someone offers me $500+ for my RS girls, I'd probably do it and just buy another one. >.> But small children, I already don't like them hell if I'm letting them "see" my dolls.

Lol, if someone asked for Elodie, I'd say, "she was $91 bald, nude and blank. But most dolls this size are 2 times the price she was."

I don't understand how people to honestly think they'd just sell something on the street at random. Baffles me what people think sometimes.

And if the person they asked agreed, wouldn't that mean that whatever it was they wanted was actually kind of worthless? I dunno about other people, but I wouldn't sell something important to a stranger...
