Stopping by for a mo...

Hey, all, c'est moi. Sorry to have been away so long, but unlike Mark Twain/Sam Clemens, the reports of MY death have not been substantially exaggerated. Or at least, I feel like they haven't.
Since I last nattered here, I have
* had the left knee replaced. Kids, treasure & coddle yer knees; this is a rough surgery & no mistake, & it HURTS. It still hurts, even though I haven't had to use a walker or even a cane since a week or so after I had it done. It's a bugger.
* bought the new condo down in Bristol, TN. Anybody live down in that neighborhood? Of course, it needs major rehauling: carpeting removed, laminate put in, the tub torn out & walk-in shower installed, new bathrooms, ceiling fans, a built-in wall-sized bookcase & work table with drawers underneath for fabrics, etc., new kitchen cabinets, new paint throughout, etc. Got a fantastic view all the way over the TN mts to the NC mts on a clear day (I'm on the top of one of the tallest mountains in town, & my unit has a balconey!) Heavenly for an artist. The living room wall is just one big sheet of glass, being a giant sliding glass door.
* am in the process of packing, so everything is all over the place, nothing can be cleaned, dusted, or vacuumed, I can't stay focused on any one item for more than a few seconds, & it's all a mess. Fortunately I have several months, since I own this place I'm currently in as well, so there's no 'date' I have to move. I can go whenever I damn well please.
* am probably the only person in the world enjoying the stock market crashings. Every time it tanks big time, I rush out & buy blue chip stock on the cheap. Bumped into Warren Buffet the other day as he was picking up a bargain or two as well. Course, I don't buy on his scale, but it's nice to know I've got the right instincts. Now if I can just hold out long enough, it will come back, eventually, & then I can buy dolliehs for everybody here! (I share)
* less happily, had to put two of my 3 cats to sleep, within a few days of each other. One was expected, the other was a shock, & I'm still reeling & weepy. I knit almost constantly; even if Bella were available to sew for (all my dolls are packed) I just don't have the heart at the moment.
My time I can spend online is very limited, so I have to go. Next time I'll try to post scans of the paintings I've done of how my new condo will be decorated.
Ciao, & love ya all. XXXXX
