We came within a mile of having a tornado in our laps yesterday.

That has got to be frightening. Being in Chicago, we have occasional dealings with these beasts but nothing like what you have down there in the heart of things.I'm so glad to hear you were passed by.

We live in the Southern Tornado Alley, so my sleep was sporadic at best last night, too.

Tornadoes are scary buggers. I've had enough close brushes with them (one during a hurricane, no less) and I know.
No tornadoes here, just a lot of a LOT of rain. Our front yard is a great big mud puddle right now.
