Knooking anyone?

http://youtu.be/igAypsLsddISome one mentioned this on a doll crochet and knit group that I belong to. Has anyone tried it?
I found a tutorial to turn regular crochet hooks into knooks with the use of plastic tubing. The knooks sold are way too big for the size work I like to do. I also read that a locker hooking needle can be used and I found one of those in steel that has a 2mm hook. Still a bit big, but a lot better than an E or G hook.

That's interesting. I knit, but don't crochet. This might be easier to control than two tiny tiny needles and a skein of tiny tiny yarn. Another thing to try!

Is Knooking like the Tunisian stitch? I've seen it around and been curious about that.
Doll crochet isn't hard with the right hooks. All my 00 and smaller have flat handles.

I got a Knook starter pack yesterday. Let me play with it and get a hold of the idea then I'll see what I can figure out for doll size.
*It has a similar idea to Tunisian but there's a bit of a difference, maybe knooking is an easier way to do Tunisian. You just need a hook or a part of a hook with a strait shaft which might get uncomfortable to hold in small doll sizes. The trick with the string is it works as a stitch holder after you've "knitted" a row. Once you've gone back over it the string gets pulled out.
Maybe use clay or something to put a hook head on the end of a doll sized cable needle? IMHO regular old fashioned doll knitting is just as good.

I got a 2mm knook to experiement with. I tried myusual thread, but had to go up to a size 10 to make any progress. It is still ugly, but not as ugly as my tiny knitting and it doesn't hurt my hands like tiny knitting does.
