Doll presents?

Postby DollyKim » Sat Nov 29, 2014 6:33 am

Are you getting any doll related presents this year or are you buying your dolls any presents? Are you giving any doll related presents to other people?

I'm getting myself Monster High, can't go wrong there, and I'm on the look out for another house or display unit for my 1/6 scale dolls.

On the giving side there are some kids who will be getting some Barbies and guys who no longer want to live with me, after their grandmother has made new clothes for them :)

Helen is technically my Christmas present and my birthday present for next year.

I have an incoming 1/6er would be be a present for one of my ladies if he gets here before Christmas. Okay granted I bought the guy for the sake of balancing out my dolls but he still counts since this is like the third time I have dolls coming in during the forth quarter of the year,

I'm getting a doll from my husband. I bought myself a Mirodoll body during the sale and I also picked up a Mystic Kids from Emory's sale yesterday. :-) Now I just need an MSD head for my 1:4 Miro body.

Well, we keep everything a surprise in my family, but we do exchange lists of ideas. I have some eyes and pants on the list, as well as "doll money". I'm hopeful. I had pointed out a MH girl in a store to my mom, but she tends to be afraid of buying the wrong thing. It would be fun to open up a doll, though.

Not giving any dolls this year, but I may make a scarf for my friend's doll.

If crazy and disastrous things will not happen in the near future, like zombie apocalypse or dragons awakening, I'm going to discuss my graduation thesis on the 15th of December. It's not exactly an X-Mas present, I know, but I've planned to spent some of the money my family will gift me to get a body for my Dollzone Freddy and a Fantasy Doll Yolanda and complete my doll family plan, at least for now.

I'd like to gift all my dolls an ugly X-Mas sweater, but I have still to find enough cheap socks with ridiculous print. On the other side, I'm working to a friend's X-mas gift and I'll include a little something for her dolls too ^_-

I picked up a Wilde Imagination Patience that went on sale and after a discussion about finances with the DH, we decided she'll be my Christmas gift. She arrived on Wednesday and after a quick check to see she was intact/right one, I turned her over to him for wrapping.

And not long after starting this post we took off on an all day road trip to get my dolls a present...

My 1/6 scale dollhouse now has a friend.

And it comes furnished along with all the other doll stuff the lady had that we could fit in our car. Friends, pets, clothes, stuff I don't even know.

I'm not keeping it all, there are more kids like the ones I gave to who will appreciate it.

I've made enough stuff for Amiga this year, and my other dolls all have Christmas dresses, so nothing new for them. I did put two of my dolls in a Winter swap this year, so I'm buying or making things for their partners. I love doing that.

I picked up some scale firearms for my girls during the Black Friday sales (technically 'BBQ lighters', but they're close enough to the right size). My mom is also letting me yoink her serger/powerlock machine that she hasn't used in forever, which while technically isn't a gift or directly doll related, will be nice to have for crafting things. I'm also in the winter swap so Elyse will be giving and receiving there as well. Nothing particularly planned though, will probably break out the Christmas tree Elyse got in the last winter swap and maybe find the time to throw together some photostories.
