Any hints, tips, or tricks to get smoke smell out of leather furniture? It's already been cat clawed so "nice" isn't much of an issue, just the smell. Getting leather care products like saddle soap is an option.

Because some room mates never seem to learn that cheap on Craig's List means serious problems, even if it a hide a bed with two recliners.

And here's a free DIY Fabreeze recipe for looking
1/8 cup liquid fabric softener
2 tea spoons of baking powder
fill rest of squirt bottle with warm water and shake
shake again before using

Sorry, I've got nothing. Maybe pet stink remover would be worth a try? It's pretty powerful.

I don't know just how valid all of this is, but you might want to do some research for yourself on the idea of third-hand smoke.

Thanks for caring about the health concerns. It's not my first or I feel last adventure with that issue.

The dogs discovered the couch has stuffing inside it so they've started tearing it apart which might hasten it's departure. Insert trying to rationalize with a "bargain" lover on the verge of hoarding stuff here.

So closing it in a room with scented plug ins won't help much?

No, all you'll get is scented smoke.

There's a product called "Zero-Odor" which is fantastic. But it's not cheap, it has to be ordered on the internet and I don't know how well it would react to leather.

I suspect the dogs are chewing on the couch because it is leather. I don't foresee it staying around long enough for the smoke smell to become an issue.

I'll look in to it, thanks about the incense. We've made some headway with washing it with vinegar and liquid fabric softener.

The dogs are tearing up the couch because of the stuffing inside, the half borzois will tear any batting, stuffing, foam, towel, fleece, and throw rug they can get to.
