Super Shiny New Technology

So I work in a Sprint store now. And for the last ten months, I have been dealing with a brokedick phone, with a cracked screen. I finally was able to get a new phone yesterday. Got the new Galaxy S5, in gold with a drop proof case, so I don't break it again. I'm totally in love. The camera is awesome and I can't wait to go take some pictures of dollies with it. I'm still getting used to not having a slide out keyboard anymore, but adjusting to swype has been easier than I expected.

So who else has some of the latest and greatest tech? Or even older tech that they really love, and what are some of your favorite features?

Congrats on your new phone! It's great to have something that actually works isn't it?

My phone is a dinosaur(I can't even change the ringtone), but love the long battery life. It can go for weeks without being plugged in.

Haha that's awesome though~! It makes me giggle when folks come in that still have old flip phones that they're super attached to. Not in that mean 'haha you suck you have a flip phone' way but more in that I find it adorable and kinda sweet, especially when the baby-boomer generation come in and their eyes bug out of their skulls when I tell them all the neat features a smartphone can do. Plus we have classes once a week where we will teach anyone anything they want to know about their devices. What kind of phone is it, if you don't mind me asking?

I got a new phone too. I haven't played with it much, so I am not sure what all it can do that the other one couldn't, and I haven't taken any pictures with it yet. My old one got dropped one too many times and the charger was not working without extreme effort - as in balanced just so with a giant hemostat clipped to the connection to keep weight on it.

I would love to get one of those slide phones that has the qwerty keyboard. Its much easier to type and gives a better grip. If they have the flip phone version of the keyboard I would love that too. Since it came with my mobile phone line I had to learn to use a touchscreen phone.

If anything my recent re-contract earned me a Samsung Galaxy tab which I didn't get a SIM for since its too bulky for regular use. Its going the direction of App games and doll photos. I'm not really big on technology as long as I can make a call or check on my FB doll group/people when needed.

I'm still getting used to the idea my iTouch has a camera. I'm not a phone person so it's my first pocket computer. I've had home units that used both sizes of floppy discs, DVDs, and smart cards for storage so every now and again I'm surprised something so tiny can "do that".

Is the S5 the one that's waterproof? That'd be kinda useful! Especially for those klutsy people who drop their phones into the toilet or something. lol

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 a few months back. Awesome camera (14MP!), and it uses a thin-tipped stylus so I can draw and write and actually touch where I'm aiming. Those normal styluses just can't do that. Not only that, but it has a program called S Note and I can transfer story notes between the phone and my Galaxy Note 8 inch tablet.

I soooo miss my old phone that had that! It was so much easier to use than the touch screen keyboard. Mine is very, very cranky!
Sometimes I miss the older, simple flip-phones. I held onto mine until I found a plan where a smart phone contract was actually cheaper than the plan I had with my dumb phone.

Though, all of the fancy stuff can be fun to play with!

I don't actually know which model it is, but my phone is the kind that doesn't flip out or slide out or anything; it just has a little screen and buttons on the front. It's not really that old I guess(doesn't have an antenna or anything like that), but it's just so outmoded.
