Scented dolls could be a thing. Ivan smells like success! :-p
Today was a Melt and Pour soap day. I had several successful batches from the four pounds of base soap I used. I tried a few different scents and colors and ended up with a few nice bars of soap.
We also played around with glycerin based soap. I don't like the way glycerin based soap works or feels. It has no lather and melts/dries too fast. I like the clear soap of course, it's pretty cool, but I think that it's working temperature is too hot. If you see in the picture the three clear bars with the yellow Batman bat in the middle, you'll see that it didn't work so well. The first one melted the Batman. Oops. The second and third I tried adding the bat later but I didn't find that sweet spot where I could get the bat in the soap without it melting versus being too stiff to even go in. We'll try that one again later.
Then, I thought I'd see what happened if I grated Dove. Ick. No. That stuff is horrible. I tossed it all out. Well, most of it. It's the grey crumbling collection of Han in carbonite. What a disaster.
Next week we're going to jump into Cold Process soap. We just have to get a few more supplies (I forgot a few things.) I'm so excited about CP. My friend and I will be working on it together and I told her we ought to get ourselves some Breaking Bad yellow suits while we're working with the lye.
