Mild rant - How the hell do you get anyone on the DOA marketplace to respond?

I've PMd 2 people about stuff who just pointedly ignored me... And sold the stuff to other people... I've gotten all of the so called requirements to be on there, but everyone seems scared to even respond to my messages as though I'm going to scam them! Surely the buyer is the one more at risk in a forum situation?

...The GO I'm in happened because the hoster noticed my Bowie rants all over the place rather than any marketplace interactions...

For the people who buy books of photographs of things should I go big coffee table $$ or 8 1/2 x 11 more reasonable price? I'm thinking of doing a book through an on demand publisher of some of the Disneyland pictures I took. They're really pretty and if I'm going to share I might as well profit. (I have seen other non authorized photo books)

That sucks, Vetinari. There seem to be a lot of sellers lately not responding to buyers. :(

For me, the bigger the better. I have quite a few books like that, not photographs, but of paintings and sculptures that I've bought from museum gift shops. The largest one I have is 11 x 14 from the National Gallery of Art in D.C. I think I bought that in '92 or '93. I've never been to D.C., but I wanted to get a look at their collection and saw the book and had to have it. I ended up buying two and my daughter took one home with her for a college class one year.

I've packed an entire suitcase, a couple of largish eco-friendly shopping bags, and packed up all my dolls in their boxes in the past two hours. I feel mildly productive but mostly hungry. I need to figure out how to pack up my shoes and my books. putting them in suitcases just seems heavy.

I've put in an offer for a doll on the MP - one I was not even aware existed let alone had been saving for. She's the 2012 Kid Delf event head with the standard girl body. She is gorgeous! It's putting my plans for the doll I was saving for back a bit. So typical of me, though!

We got visited by a pair of Easter Borzoi last night, pics when there's light. It definitely means Velvet is off to her next step in training with someone who wants a big personality Lab type. Unless they turn out to be Cylons the Borzoi should be our forever big and service dogs, used to have them when I was much younger so we know what traits to expect. I look forward to knowing I can bond with a big dog that won't be going away.

*This is them in their natural smooshed state, they look like wiener dog heads on greyhound bodies.

Ugh. The raccoon family is back. I talked to my cousin. I am SO glad he knows what he's doing - avid hunter/provider. I'm such a city mouse it's not even funny, but the raccoons are just evil things and I don't just mean getting into the trash. They terrorize the pets in the neighborhood. He's going to show us how to use some live traps (since we live in town) and then we will drop them off at a state park not far from our house once we trap them. My cousin must think I'm nuts.
