Here's a doll making idea, joints first and build the doll up around them.

That's what I tried to do with the blue girl but I still messed up. Curse my lack of patience!

...Drax is such a fussy doll to try to work out a look for... He's claimed a cheap green pair of acrylics as his own now, rather than the black/blue pair he'd been wearing previously...

So he's currently rocking the red hair/green eyes look... And is looking more like a late 60s rocker than a victorian gentleman...

...Oh and since he's genetically 99.999% human he wants to be reclassified as a human sorcerer... Despite his mild aversion to anything containing iron, and salt... Still the sorcerer thing has definitely stuck, as have his travels and eating anything likely to be mind-altering that he comes across... (...oh and Jerome...)

Exactly why should I pay more for a doll made in 2009 - with the old body - just to fund their savings for their next doll?! It's irritating because if they were rational and offered the doll for what it should be I'd probably seriously consider it.

When I first joined the hobby I was told by a number of people that dolls don't really depreciate all that much in value. If the doll isn't damaged or hasn't yellowed it should still be worth close to list price. It's worth what it's worth. If it isn't broken, why should it be worth less? There's no real rule on what a second hand value should or shouldn't be, it just depends on what the free market will bear.

Close to IT'S list price - not more than the price of an updated, brand new doll costs now. Seriously, I checked. There are at least 2 dolls with old style bodies priced above what the same doll costs new. There's also someone trying to sell a doll that has damage for the same price as a new one without damage. I've also seem people up the cost of their new doll to include the shipping they paid and then charge for shipping to the buyer. (I suppose if you want the doll enough to pay $50-$75 more so you don't have to wait 3 months, it's worth it, but it really irritates me because it's something I would never do.) And those are just dolls I was interested in enough to look at.

Ah, yes. ITS value. I get what you mean. It would be like if I tried to sell my BBB Apollo for the price of the newer RS bodies or something. Would be interesting to see if they sell or if the price ends up getting dropped.

I guess there's never any harm in making an offer. I do that all the time. I've got 2 dolls that I made an offer on and they sold. If you see one you really like, maybe you can low-ball 'em.

Last night I managed to get some quality time in with the dolls that didn't involve MSC or taking anyone apart. It was glorious. But while I was taking some pictures of Es, Sparky stole one of Honoka's boots from a pile of doll clothes I had sitting on the bed. It was kind of adorable. Have some video of it:

Okay ... so it seems that someone we entrusted the care and safety of my 17 year old daughter a couple of months ago isn't who we though he was. Like ... at all. I'm beginning to wonder right now if anything this person has told her (or anyone else for that matter) is true. I'm beginning to wonder if a mutual friend of theirs that this person is supposed to have known most of his life and who supposedly is in the hospital after having heart surgery even exists. If that's the case, my daughter is going to have a very, VERY hard time taking that news. I hope and pray that I am wrong. I really do.
