Exactly why should I pay more for a doll made in 2009 - with the old body - just to fund their savings for their next doll?! It's irritating because if they were rational and offered the doll for what it should be I'd probably seriously consider it.
When I first joined the hobby I was told by a number of people that dolls don't really depreciate all that much in value. If the doll isn't damaged or hasn't yellowed it should still be worth close to list price. It's worth what it's worth. If it isn't broken, why should it be worth less? There's no real rule on what a second hand value should or shouldn't be, it just depends on what the free market will bear.
Close to IT'S list price - not more than the price of an updated, brand new doll costs now. Seriously, I checked. There are at least 2 dolls with old style bodies priced above what the same doll costs new. There's also someone trying to sell a doll that has damage for the same price as a new one without damage. I've also seem people up the cost of their new doll to include the shipping they paid and then charge for shipping to the buyer. (I suppose if you want the doll enough to pay $50-$75 more so you don't have to wait 3 months, it's worth it, but it really irritates me because it's something I would never do.) And those are just dolls I was interested in enough to look at.

But while I was taking some pictures of Es, Sparky stole one of Honoka's boots from a pile of doll clothes I had sitting on the bed. It was kind of adorable. Have some video of it:
