there is nothing I hate more then someone who didn't cook a meal bitching and moaning while you're trying to eat it about how terrible it is and what every single thing about it is wrong. you'd know what I'd love? mom cooking again so she'd stop bitching about how we do everything wrong.

My sister thinks she has the right to complain about food she doesn't make either. Then she started not eating when we did and complaining about it being cold. We stopped cooking for her.

Hmmm...I made mac n cheese tonight using Cable Guy Larry's cheese sauce. The boys went crazy over it. lol! It was really good, too. Certainly better than the box stuff.

Or when we go out of our way to accommodate my husband's family who are vegan, and then they spend the whole meal demonizing us for the milk in our fridge. As a matter of fact, I do know exactly how they got that milk. I could take you to meet the cows if you want. They hate the fact we invalidate their arguments by being conscious eaters. I respect their decision, and I agree with a lot of it, but especially in my own house you need to respect me as well.

We put our foot down about that when Larry's relatives started in on something. He stood up and said "You are eating MY food, in MY house provided by MY money. If you don't respect ME and MY wishes here, you can leave right now. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, and don't come back."

Boy did they shut up fast.

I am so glad that I haven't any relatives who act as though they have the right to denigrate us in our own home. Then again we haven't had relatives visit since we got married nearly 6 years ago.... Like Misty said - you have to stand up to them.

Someone I know had the nerve to whine about something my father made and I told her if she doesn't like it she doesn't have to eat it....And she kept complaining til my father made her something else just to shut her up. Some people are really annoying.

My parents only got one rule when it comes to eating if you don't like it don't eat it but at least try a bite of it first.

Growing up, if we put up a fuss about what was for dinner and refused to eat it, we'd go to bed hungry and then breakfast would be what we didn't finish the night before. It was the only thing my family was ever strict about. Except for the time I burst out crying when we were having fish for dinner and my pet beta had just died. My mom made an exception and made me some macncheese instead.

No curfew, no solid rules, could wear basically whatever I wanted, never had a grounding stick for more than a day, but being a picky eater or being rude about food was not tolerated.

I would rather chew my leg off then complain about food. even when it really is bad.

This entire conversation makes me really glad that I've never been all that picky when it comes to food, and no one I've lived with ever have been picky either.

Trying to get rid of a ton of stuff before I move in to my new apartment. I'm slightly overwhelmed.
