Getting really close to done with Omi's 'Ciel' cosplay. I'm pretty proud of myself considering that everything on him (except the wig and the shoes) had to specially patterned for this. XD

The collar isn't quite right. If the collar were a little shorter, then it'd be perfect. I might remake the shorts to be about a quarter of an inch longer. With longer shorts, I can let the jacket down to the full length, and it'll come to about the right spot as shown in the reference (just past the finger-tips).

IRL the blue fabric isn't that bright. Why it keeps photographing like that is beyond me. >.<;;;

I love that outfit. It totally kicks it. But one thing I don't get. Why shorts and not Victorian leggings? It just seems like such an odd choice. Usually you'd see tight guy leggings under something like this.

I did a google image search on Victorian clothes for children and there were a lot of pictures of boys in shorts and jackets with their little ankle-boots. There were also slacks and kilts. Maybe the animators did the same thing. "Look! Jacket with shorts, draw that!" :-p

I just pulled up the references to the character in the anime/manga... the kid has a LOT of costume changes. Unfortunately, most of them are shorts with socks that only go up to the calf. As much as I love Omi, I have to admit that while I find his knees adorable, other people may have differing opinions. Therefore one of the requirements that I had for his cosplay was that his knees needed to be covered. Four costume reference images were located that had covered knees, and I liked this particular one the best.

Though, I think the cane went to a different outfit. >.>;;;

Woot! Now I just need the buttons on the cuffs, and the butt-bow. If I'm being completely insane, I'll re-make the shorts a quarter of an inch longer. I might end up being insane. Everything else on the costume has at least 2-3 different versions of it sewn, why not the shorts as well! XD

I'm an idiot. "Hey self! You've been wrapping up these other long term projects? Here's an idea for you right before you start grad school and are in the middle of a metric shit ton of family issues! Make your own Barbie scale BJD that can wear commercial Barbie clothes and shoes, while still having the looks you like in a doll!" Why not? So that's what has crawled its way onto my workdesk.
