Yay kimono! (Please ignore the broken hairpony belt, it was the first thing I grabbed.:D) This one is just an underlayer, and it's going to be worn with hakama as well, so I made it pretty short to not interfere with posing. Now onto the black one.

...May have been a bit ambitious with my first big sculpting project - got the head sculpt as I wanted, really quite cute... Then I decided I wanted to try to make an open/shut moving jaw... It works, but the sculpt is not nearly as cute now! Sigh... I should have just left it, he's gone from looking like a bewildered pug to a bulldog...

Edit:
Photos:

Initial Play-around with clay - this was the result... He reminds me of something but I can't work out what!

You can see a couple of rough bits where the clay dried out a little... Eh live and learn!

WIP shot of Mr Fusspot... Really should have taken a photo of the sculpt before I carved out his jaw... Too late now... Hopefully some cuteness will be salvegeable... :?

A while back I got a couple of Daniela Liv Color dolls. I basically bought them both because I really liked that wig and I wanted one for my 13" dolls and one for my 16" girls. I've been using the wig from one on Poppy one of my Bratzillaz actually but I decided I didn't want them to both look exactly the same. The second one I got was a bit messed up to begin with. It's got messy, slightly wavy bangs so I decided to try to restyle it. I rolled up the rest and dunked the wig in boiling water. I was a little nervous about doing this because I had not attempted to boil perm a Liv wig before and I had read that sometimes they just frizz out when you try it no matter how careful you are. It was already messed up though so I figured why not try?

Actually it came out pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. It's drying now and I'm actually sitting here trying to decide who I want to put it on. :) It's a pretty intense color so I'm going to have to pick just the right doll and just the right outfit to make it work. I'm not going to take it off the stand till it's 100% dry. I want the bangs to dry in the position they are in now. Hopefully they will. But I managed to do it, just an FYI. I was very careful though to take the pot off the boil and let it set, then to dunk the wig for only about 45 secs and then I dunked it in cold water. I think that's about as long as I'd dare try with one of these. They're not the best quality wig to begin with and I don't think I'd push it any more than that. Might fry it if you did.

Got some clay. I am going to be playing with it now. I used to sculpt all the time when I was younger, but haven't done it much in recent years. It'll be a fun project for me to work on...

Update, sculpting for the first time in more than a decade ftw:

Working on a cosplay outfit for one of my Alices. A lot of this part isn't going to be visible, since it'll be tucked away behind a corset. I still wanted as much of the clothes to be stylish. ^///^

When it's done, it should look something like this:

I am very, very proud of myself right now. It's 3AM here right now and I am exhausted but I think I finally got my reluctant Delilah to look like I wanted her to look to begin with. Yup, she's going to be a dark brownish redhead, with freckles, hazel eyes, wispy lashes et all!!!! 20 tries later, and I am not exaggerating on that score, all the majors are done. No more endless repaints. I am 100% happy with the way she is painted. All I have to do is wait for her to dry, do a bit of body blush work, seal her face again, put her lashes back on, dress her and she is DONE. She actually looks pretty respectable. I cannot quite believe it. I've done so much work on this doll, and she's never been quite right. I honestly thought I'd never get her finished, ever. I'll be taking pics tomorrow afternoon after her lashes are dry and she's dressed. If ever a doll deserved a photo show off session this one sure does! :P

Woo! Mr Fusspot is pretty near finished - just need to paint up the hard sculpted parts, and touch up a couple of bits on the sculpt of his muzzle.

He's come out a little tall on the 70cm that Vetinari will have, but I think it works
