Somewhere there is an island of Lost Doll Making Projects because I'm sending the DAS doll there. Or maybe just it's thighs. RIght now it's sitting in a bag in the bottom of the closet while I reflect on more knees that went not so well. Too much cutting and adding back on has happened for the clay to hold up. Attention will be focused solely on the test Wiggle, I think I'll go ball on the bottom of the thigh and socket in the shin for his knees. It worked on one of the Rogers.

The DAS doll did have more go right than wrong and it's from the things that don't quite work that we learn the most.

Playing with air-dry clay... Have made the head and lower legs of what might become Mr Fusspot for Lord Vetinari... Depends what they look like once dried I suppose! I'm thinking I'll attach these harder feature parts to a plushy body if it all works out ok

Cool thing about kids is they can handle faceless dolls. If he always has an awake face how can he fall asleep? Felt, pipe cleaners, and a bit of stuffing. This is adapted from a Japanese pattern book I bought years ago.

I'm in need of finishing something, anything, so I can feel better about my making skills. I think I can save the DAS doll and just remake it's thighs, the test clay Wiggle is going agonizingly slow.

Actually anyone have a link to a tutorial/ actual tips/techniques about how to attach soft toy/fur to hard sculpted parts? Not knowing any of the technical terms for this google is failing me...

Yeah! That's the one I found, I'm going to redo the detailing on the paws - want them to be bigger/less cartoony then I'm going to attempt to work out a soft pattern

So, I looked at the measurements and the pajama pants I made are definitely going to be too small.
I'll draft a new pattern and make another pair this weekend.
I'm also slowly working on a tiny plush doll; he is about 11cm tall, and is currently in the process of getting yarn hair.
