SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

After being misrouted to another city, and then not delivered because they thought we were closed I had to call the post office and beg to get her brought to me TODAY. And now my Iplehouse Benny is HERE!!!!

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG I don't know that I've ever seen a doll that so much surpassed my expectations! Exquisite just doesn't do this sculpt any justice at all. I promise pictures later, because I'm still at work, but I will say that now I understand why Iplehouse is one of the three major big (expensive) resin doll makers!

But I still ain't buying no Volks hahahahaha

:::waves at Nancy::: Glad to hear things are progressing for you- slow forward motion is still forward motion, ne?

Glad to hear everyone's bits of good news, large and small. It's good to have someplace like this, where you can cheer about everyone's good moments and commiserate during the rough ones.

Finished up the tail for Persis (kitteh-girl) and, and have her sister nearly done.

Progressing slowly but steadily on a commissioned reroot.

(Remembering why the terminally disorganized shouldn't do commissions.) I'm going to have a load of DollyHair Pumpkin Spice left over, so I might do something daring and reroot someone as a ginger for the sale forum.

Just placed the order for Warriors' Gate Productions' Jamie and Zoe headsculpts. It's a splurge, but (eventually) having a Second Doctor and his two favorite companions will be worth it. :D

I made a pair of pants for my 1/3 doll after failing repeatedly over the last few years to make said item for my 1/6 dolls. Granted I was faking it like I faked my qipaos and body suit.
I started off with the intention to make it into a pair of drawstring pants and a little bit of tuck and sew later it looks halfway decent.

Gotta find Megu-Chun a decent belt before I shoot her

Even the difference from 1/4 to 1/3 is amazing to me. When sewing for 1/3 I feel like I have so much more roooooom to work with. Sewing for my tiny and 1/6... I think I just resorted to hand sewing, it just got too tight for the machine.

 I know what you mean, The same outfit sometimes turn out easier in another scale.. although I have to stand at times when stitching together an outfit for 1/3 while I'm seated for 1/6

If you're really that desperate for a belt check pet stuff, my 1/3 boy's wearing a small dog collar around his waist and it's perfect once the D-ring's cut out.

(and while I'm on the topic of belts, I just found another couple watch bands for my 1/4 dolls to wear as belts, I finally found a pink one! Though I think I now have two in light green. Oh well, they're different materials.)

bracelets make EXCELLENT belts for dolls! I hit thrift stores all the time and see ones that will work. I snap them up cheap right away :) They also make bracelets that you can slide charms onto - the bracelets look just like belts, including the buckle. Hard to find, but if you can they are worth it - and they will fit 1/4 or 1/3!

Forgot to come back and mention that the storm spotter class was a success. I am now a trained spotter and am seriously considering taking the "graduate" class in March.
Looks like my first big test will be coming up tomorrow as we're expecting severe weather in the South during the day.

What great suggestions, guys.
And, Yanagi-sen, I hear you. I always sew my 1/6 stuff by hand. It's so much easier, and it looks a lot better.
