I bought one of Ikea's bed frames and put it together myself, and so far in the last five years it's held up just fine. Dunno if it's carboard or real wood, but either way that sucker was HEAVY trying to drag it in pieces down the stairs. ^^; It's one of those frames meant to use a memory foam mattress, but I just put my own mattresses on it since they were still pretty new, and it works like a charm. Best of all, the frame is tall, so there's room for storage underneath, which makes the cats unhappy because I've got so much stuffed crammed under there now that there's no room for them to squeeze in. lol

It's definitely heavy and it's about as tall as I am. If it were one layer of shelves instead of two it would be okay. It looks like I'll just take the thrift store day bed back, she who bought the Ikea bed can have it, and I keep the pillow top mattress. The day bed has saggy springs and one rail is curved like an elephant sat on it but between a support plywood board and this new mattress I should be okay.

My dollhouse is constructed better.

I miss my ikea bed. that thing had solid wood slats and could turn into a couch.
on the other hand, I just got a new knock-off temperpedic mattress on my bed here and man... comfortable. and WARM!

So, the family and I are going back to our home vacation for a month tomorrow. So I thought before, Oh I should bring Amber because I wanted my partner to see her in person. So I bring up the topic and they're all Oh don't she's gonna be heavy and a hassle and my brother even said "I'm not bringing anything I not giving to anyone" So yeah, that annoyed me a bit. But then after a while I started thinking I don't even have a lot of places to go that would make a once in a lifetime shoot. It's all the normal houses and streets and the city that would be impossible for a shoot. So I just feel bad for leaving her home alone now.

I'm still bringing Kitty though because she's small enough that I can just place her anywhere and it'll be a good shoot. Plus, she doesn't have enough pictures as Amber and Eden has XD

The mix of Raw Power (Iggy and the Stooges) on LP is surprisingly different to the CD copy I own. Quieter! But can hear more of the subtler guitar work - wasn't expecting it to be quite so dissimilar! I could have sworn I bought the "Bowie-mix" CD but maybe not...

Edit: Ah that explains everything... The CD copy had repro'd the LP album artwork with no care for the accuracy of the information on the sleeve, so my CD is Probably the Iggy Mix of Doom (i.e. super compressed entirely in the Red messiness  ) Just wish it was more obvious on the CD which version it is, cos this is me going weeelll I think that's whats happened, cos it's not really labelled explicitly as one or the other anywhere

I love Ikea. I have a lot of brands they carry, and am planning on buying loads more in the future. I was hoping to get down there again before the baby comes but I doubt that's going to happen. It will have to be a day trip some time in March perhaps. We're wanting to do a big wall mural and they've got the Besta brand has the best set up to go with that style.

I still haven't unpacked my poor dolls. They've been in boxes for months now! I really, really, REALLY need to get a shelf or something to set them on.

Other random good news, my neighborhood has a giant yard sale weekend every May. I'm pretty pleased with the notion of jumping in on a pre-advertised event and I think I can handle a little competition. Hopefully I'll be able to offload some stuff. We have a basement full of stuff we don't need anymore.

Well mom gets the Ikea bed so she can stuff it full of hoard, the day bed goes in the living room to replace the small couch the borzoi decided to eat the cushions off of, and I get the big fat mattress on my board on milk crates bed. A big bed in my room makes the whole thing look small and I need a movable bed to do some stuff. All in all a new mattress is all that was ever needed.

And we've had another earthquake, I figured it was really big or really close, it was moderate but close enough. Nothing broken nothing fell down.
