Had the bright idea that I wanted to update my collection of the Hallmark fairy messenger ornaments released each year, so I've been scouring Ebay. Good GOLLY, Miss Molly! Who knew ornaments were so friggin' expensive! $70 for the first in the series? Almost $90 for the 7th?! And people actually PAY these prices?! O_o; All I want is ornaments for my little fairy tree. *whimpers*

My Doctor Who dolls will be celebrating 11-12-13 (December 11th to us Yanks) with a party and are allowed to bring one guest/companion/anyone who isn't Richard E Grant. Some have guests, and some I have no idea. Like who does Dr Whooves bring keeping in mind I don't have any other Ponies?

I feel your pain! I used to collect the Frosty Friends and have never been able to afford the first 2 or 3 that I missed. Plus, Hallmark's Fisher Price toy ornaments are perfect prop toys for my Patsy dolls and they are now all retired and expensive. :(

Target has Fisher Price ornaments and if you're near a Hobby Lobby they have a line called A Tree For Me which has small doll sized things like power tools.

Try again for the ornaments away from the holidays, they might want to get rid of the ornaments just to get rid of them. I've been tempted but in the past the only Hallmark I bought were doll sized electronics. This year I got a generic glass iPad because it's an iPad. I still want one that says "They didn't have your name" for Xavier because they never have his name.

one year hallmark had all these snow fairy ornaments. I kinda wish they had released more of them. for years we would carefully unpack them out of thier original packing, and then at the end of the season, repack them into the molded plastic containers. took ages. on the other hand, they never did break.

There are some Targets up in Anchorage, but we don't have plans to go up there anytime soon. I did put the word out to my family to look for me, so I may be able to score some of them, but they are lower quality than the Hallmarks from what I read. As for buying after the holiday...unfortunately the scalpers already have the word that they have "doll collector value" and they are keeping the prices elevated year round.

I do some Hobby Lobby online, but it's expensive to ship so I don't get much from them.

I did just score an ornament as a gift for a friend. It's a Muppet ornament. Beaker, "singing" Ode to Joy. I saw it a couple of years ago and thought it was hilarious. My friend LOVES Beaker and when he does his part of the Muppet's 12 Days of Christmas, she cracks up every time. Price wasn't too bad, either. $30, but I think the original price was like $25. I saw others being sold for $50 and up. I just hope it works when it comes. I may have to take it out of the package and try it to make sure.

I did manage to win one of the fairies for a decent price. And I'm bidding on another. And I have a couple of Buy It Nows in my shopping cart that I'm wavering back and forth on buying. They're pretty cheap compared to the others (less than $20 each), but I may wait until next year or something anyway. Still have more presents to buy, after all.

Richard Hunt was insane, the later Beakers haven't quite caught the same spark. David Rudman who does Cookie and Animal should give it a try or Brian Henson. If you're going to Meep Ode to Joy you have to do it with conviction!

That moment when you begin to kick yourself for not saying: "Screw it" and getting the perfect MSD sized Christmas tree...Even if it hurt to touch the branches.

I'm gonna need to stop kicking myself and start listening to that voice in my head that says: "Do it."
