Oh no we don't make the stuff. We sell it in person. Essentially, I do the same thing face to face, rather than via the phone. One of our spins is "FUGI Factors" to increase impulse buyers. I can't remember what the U stands for, but F is Fear of Loss: get that 'now now now' mentality going, because the deal is only for a limited time. G is Greed, because everyone wants what everyone else has, and the I is for Indifference; we want people to think that we're offering them a favor, rather than trying to get them to buy from us, by showing we don't care if they buy or not.
I did manage to cultivate what I call a "guest service face" which is a persona I assume when dealing with people, and with supervisors, always agreeing and acting like I care what they tell me. Hopefully I can keep it going long enough to find another job. I don't care if it's mindless cashiering. I've done that for years, I can do it again.
