I... can't sell anything. I set aside a few months ago of dolls I don't really like so much, looked up what they were going for on ebay, and still didn't sell. I've meant to offload my Pure Violet Momoko and get a doll I will really like with the cash for years now. I don't actually love my first bjd much, can't get her to look right, even though she's a beautiful doll, but I never progressed beyond a feeler thread and panicking. I have literally hundreds of Barbie dolls. I have at least one (maybe two) collector Barbies I bought TWICE because I loved them and their prices dropped and... I keep meaning to sell my duplicate My Little Ponies.

...yeah. I have OCD. This is probably not unrelated.

I have sold my big Obitsu girls and my Pullip girls so far. Natalie and Noelle (Pullip Suiseiseki and Neo Noir) will be moving to another girl within my home country, Sosha and Eva are travelling to Misheru and Highlander <3. I'm happy to have found them a good home.

Nah, I wouldn't blame that on the OCD. I don't have it and you sound exactly like me right down to the multiple collector's Barbie bit. I have 3 of the same 90's Midge and 3 Irish Princess dolls. Do I need 3 of each one? No, of course not. But not only do I have them, I have them all out and displayed and they're all on articulated bodies besides. One of each articulated okay, that would be okay right? But no, they ALL have to have articulated bodies, laugh. I have girls that are desperately in need of articulated bodies that could really use those four bodies but I still let those 2 backup Midges and those 2 backup Irish princesses completely hog them. That Midge is common enough but there are people paying good money still for that for POI doll and I'm sitting on three of them...

So far as I know I'm only compulsive when it comes to hoarding Barbies. I haven't counted recently but I think each bin has about 60, and there are 3 plus I have about 50 dolls displayed on my permanent shelf, so probably 240 or so? Plus another 2 dozen Bratz, half a dozen Liv, half a dozen Jem dolls, and my collection of bigger ones, like Tonner. Plus misc ones of all kinds, probably somewhere around 400 dolls maybe? I used to think my collection was huge until I started hanging out online with other doll people. Now I realize I'm not nearly as bad as I thought. I wish I could fall out of love with some of them. I could use the $$$ but nope, just doesn't happen. I look at them and I just can't do it when it comes to selling most of them. I'm hopeless. ;P

As long as you don't get overwhelmed you should be okay. It's alright to have a collection as long as your life in general is in control. Are things neat and tidy? Are your bills paid? I have as many if not more dolls than anyone else I just don't have the space I'd like to display them so those who aren't out are put away in tidy storage.

It hit me this morning that I have now spent more years going through my pack rat grandmother's stuff than I knew her when she was alive. My smother has made us cart the stuff around from move to move all these years. I don't want to leave that behind for whomever comes after me.

Hehe, funny, I am actually VERY organized. My administration is always up-to-date and in matching files, lol. I like things neat and tidy. I've got labeled boxes for all my doll stuff. I used to be very chaotic and messy, but since about 4 years I've turned around and now I'm pretty neurotic actually, lol :P

You just made me laugh. You know it's funny but I'm not an organized type in general. There are certain things that do bug me if it gets too messy. I hate a messy fridge or freezer but in general I'm a messy person. Not dirty, just messy, cluttered. I have a hard time not cluttering things up. Not when it comes to the dolls or my closet. I have bins with storage bags inside and craft boxes. Everything Barbie or 16" is all neatly labeled to the point where it's almost frightening. All my clothes are organized and I have plastic shoe boxes and the like. Are you like that about everything now? I keep hoping I'll get organized about everything but I never seem to get it to Martha Stewart level...

Cluttered and dirty are majorly different. My grandmother had piles of boxes with paths and some dust on them so she straddled the line between cluttered and hoard, and to her credit she knew where everything was and had it labeled before a junky broke in and tore everything apart, and she stored useless stuff like 50 year old receipts but she didn't store sh*t and could throw things away.

I have my own dust, and the dollhouse needs a good Swiffer dustering, but I don't let cobwebs grow. I can't see the people who let layers of filth build up and can't throw anything away. I'm so get the f**k out that I've found stuff I thought I threw away years ago turning up having been packed away by the starting to hoard smother. Fortunately something about this place, and not having a garage, is letting sense take over. We may never be clutter free but like that truck load of hidden away until they rotted craft supplied we had to dump, really made me mad as I could have used a good part of it, we will be free of a senseless hoard.

Getting back on to the falling out of love with doll side I'm looking at culling most of the action figures from the Voltron to the Gatchaman ones I thought I wanted and the Marvels inbetween. The board gets first shot at wanting when I get there. I need to cut myself down to 5" scale so the Trekkers and Doctors can share a display cabinet. There's going to be a few odd sizes like Mask of Phanteanna and Battle Damaged Spider-Man but the tub is too heavy to lift.

Yes....collecting can definitely get out of hand. I feel like the 1/6 barbies and obitsus multiply everytime you look at them. Because they are smaller it's easier to have a lot of them. I don't have 100 of those but I have close to 50 heads and about 20 bodies floating around. In the meantime I have about 12 BJD dolls (of all different sizes) that are not going to new homes any times soon. I take commissions so I also have a few floating heads that don't belong to me. I tend to buy BJDs I fall in love with and want to paint then resell them because they were bought purely for the purpose of me being omg I wanna paaaaaaaaint that one. And to a smaller extent I also sometimes want a doll but find that when she/he arrives the sculpt isn't what I expected. As a result I don't have a problem letting go of dolls. Usually when I paint them a personality comes out. Sometimes that personality grabs me and other times I look at the doll and go oh, you're cool but really not for me.

EDIT: I am however at the moment waffling on selling my Dikadoll. She was the fifth doll that came to me and the second doll order I made. My first doll was a starter doll that was a cheap doll I could rationalize spending money on. She has a name and a personality but mainly she's a body with the wrong head. Lael (Dikadoll Rena) was the first doll I ordered whose look I looooved and I had her name long before she got to me. I still love her sculpt but I don't play with her much. She doesn't even have her faceup which is probably the problem and I hate hate her body. It would be easy to replace the body tho so eventually I'll have to clean off her heads (OE and SE) since I er did use her as a faceup test head and figure out who she is and if she's staying.

Well, they're not really dolls, but I've been selling off action figures and figurines from my anime collection. The ones that I don't have space to display are just sitting in a box, and there are a lot of them in there that I just don't care for any more.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

Alright...With the incoming dolls, I have to get rid of someone. The dolls in their boxes...yep they're going. Once they get a good lookover, a cleanup, a faceup, they're gone. Make way for the new boys!

Obviously, Cerise & Charlie aren't going anywhere. Neither is Ziv. Ember is a bit of a tossup considering I like her, she works well as Ziv's sister etc. Must also rehome the multitude of heads I have so....check out the sales thread at some point.

EDIT: My Allen is staying as are my RS dolls. No more RS/BBB purchases again unless I trade in one of the existing ones. Allen's twin Drew who is a Yeondu is going to be reshelled as a Kio girl and then Yeondu is going out the door. My dikadoll Rena. I loved her. I still do. But can I live without her? Yes.
