If you opened your house and charged admission you should add guided tours. Between unwatched children wanting to play and unwatched adults wanting to steal you'd need to protect your treasures. I used to display my Trekkers in places, fairs, libraries etc, and would have grown adults trying to pry the cases open to get at them :( Kids left nose and finger prints.

Not just a tour guide but armed guards all named Guido, who speak with Italian/Brooklyn accents. Any of yooz guyz touches dese here dolls is gonna swim wif da fishes!

Yeah, if I'd have a house like that for display, I'd have it set up like House on the Rock where everything is like a museum - encased in glass (can't get there unless you're 'behind the curtain' so to speak) and alarm sensors for when some goof would break the glass to get to the displays.

Anyone want to actually HAVE that many dolls?

*whistles innocently*

I don't think it's a matter of want...it just seems to be happening.

I think I'd have to agree with Stormlight that's it's not that she's a hoarder, but that her house seems too cluttered. I don't think I'd be able to appreciate a 500 doll collection properly with all of them just hanging around my house ALL the time. Just like they say that it's a good idea to cycle artwork on your walls to give a new look, I think I'd probably appreciate my collection a lot more if some were in storage at some times and others were nicely displayed throughout the house.

Of course, I also find the COST of that many dolls overwhelming, too. I give her credit for at least admitting that they cost a lot and knowing that it IS a financial strain (and wanting to make her own to alleviate the burden, wow!) But right now, I have only 1 BJD and get giddy with apprehension at the thought of being able to buy another (I'm young, recently out of college, and most of my paycheck goes to student loans, unfortunately -.-) Of course, I'd love to have more than just 1. I could never imagine having 500, though.

On a third, final thought, I agree with Greyhaunt that those baby (Reborn?) dolls are creepy. And I wouldn't recommend their eyes for a BJD. I found that out the hard way. They're... rather possessed looking in person... -.-*

At Home: Little Ari (Resinsoul Mei), Gilan (Resinsoul Song), Mina (Jun Planning Ai Cosmos), Yukiko (5StarDoll Tong Tong), Julia (Hujoo Yumi), Lion'a (Hujoo Suve), Ella (Jun Planning Hestia Isora), Mint (Fairland Pukifee PongPong, "unnamed thus far" (Hujoo Nano Freya)
Wish List: Delf Ani, Resinsoul Yun/5StarDoll Angelo (f.), Island Doll Emily, BJD Hamster pet

I got to watch the full show. She was one of three people featured. She seems like a pretty cool person. She does some of the same stuff that we do with our dolls, like bringing them to town with us and taking pictures of them.

The only ones were a vacuum expert and a lady who collect ANYTHING shoe related. She even has her boyfriend make her a shoe breakfast!! @_@ The really kick was that her collection wasn't worth very much. :/
I'm mostly on Tumblr now.

With the reborn babies it's all how you do them and if you want open eyes or not. I didn't do the hair on mine but if it wears a hat it's pretty convincing. The eyes are closed so it looks like a calm sleeping baby. They're great for the person who wants to dress up a baby but doesn't want diapers. So far I have a onesie and pink Halloween pajamas with baby ghosts on them.

I actually think it's kind of neat, I mean I would be kind of freaked out if they were in my room but I think they're neat especially because they are so lifelike. Like DollyKim said, everyone wants to dress babies up but no one wants to clean them up so that's a perfect alternative.

I actually think the ones with horns are kind of neat. Not only is it a doll it's a halloween prop too!

She does have an amazing collection. I wish I had gotten to see the whole show. Were the vacuums a collection of a young man who fixes them? I think I saw him on television a couple of years ago. That's pretty cool because I'm not mechanically inclined in the least. Keep the tools away from me as I'll end up impaling my hand or leg somehow. (I'm also a klutz...so keeping sharp objects away from me is a good thing.)

Reborn dolls scare me a bit in person. Sometimes, even the photos of them give me chills. Maybe it's the lighting?

That's pretty awesome. (I think my threat would be valid too as I have two very aggressive pet betta fish. XD)

Reborn dolls inrigue me with how real they look but I doubt I would ever want one.
