I gave Ryan the numbers of my landlord and maintenance, but I assume they're going to be calling me here to deal with it because my name is on the lease.
And I hope he told those guys to leave and never come back, too!
Your landlord should immediately stop doing business with that company or fire the guy if he works for them directly. I'd also demand to be informed whenever maintenance is going to do work in my place (it's required by law for the renter's protection) from now on. If things actually were stolen from you after not having been informed they were entering you could have a claim against the landlord. It's impossible to be there all the time when you have a job outside the home, but you have the right to know when someone is entering and have the opportunity to secure your property.
Sorry you are out of town when this is happening. I understand how being away from home can feel when something goes wrong. We were in Orlando for a short vacation and I ended up spending about 5 hours in the ER sick as a dog. They thought it might have been appendicitis, but after doing a CAT scan determined it wasn't anything to do with my abdominal organs. I'm guessing it was a stomach virus, but if so it was the worst I've ever had - and I've had several before. I'm still sore, achy and queasy and that was Thursday when it hit me.
I did find out something though - crowds at Disney part like the Red Sea for someone in a wheelchair! I might use that trick to get around the part easier more often. Though my husband might not think he needs that much exercise pushing the chair again. LOL!
